    Anti is good for sure, easily the best thing Rihanna has ever released. I'm on my first listen of Lemonade, stay tuned evry1

    Not necessarily hyper-literal.

    Dare I say I find the Terrence Malickian aesthetic (if it is fair to attribute this recent trend to him) played out? Let me whisper to you while basking in beautiful shots of nature & off-kilter camera angles.

    it's a litttttle put on, agreed. agree w @Swizz on anti being rihanna's best all around album. lacks the depths of lemonade imo (based off one listen). and again could just be lemonade is trying RLY hard to be profound so even if it misses, it lands slightly better

    doesnt exist without this kendrick album, does it?
    funny you say that--very few things turn me off of a work more than big swings/misses at being "deep"

    yeah -- usually i agree. i don't think this is a big miss though. there's stuff to unpackage.

    what irks me is these album releases almost nearly eclipse the quality of the material lately. kanye tweeting > tlop.... faux narrative about jayz cheating (gasp!) >> lemonade

    i was just speaking generally about music/movies/etc--outside of those interludes, i think the writing on beyonce's album is solid, even when it's unspectacular.

    i agree that the album releases are overshadowing the work.

    I like that the line is blurred to the point where the art works whether it is true or not. It's a success if she experienced these things first hand with her husband, second hand as a daughter & she found therapy through music or if she embodied a fictional character.

    Where as with Kanye's release it felt constipated & not fresh or nearly as exciting as I think they wanted.

    so Rita Ora is 'becky with the good hair' ? she keeps adding fuel to the fire, from wearing a lemon bra days before the album dropped, wearing the same gucci outfit as Beyonce in Formation, to posting Ash Wednesday on her instagram, etc.

    I like this album a lot too, but I wouldn't put it over Beyoncé just because it is more linear and one mood.

    But wow, the triple A on this joint are incredible. Sandcastles and All Night some of her best joints ever.

    Yeah All Night is my favourite and what puts it above Beyonce for me. Not expecting many to agree.
