Sep 5, 2020 Come on @Grimace there's bad then there is just that song lpl, but fair enough no hate mate just think it's a s--- verse
Sep 6, 2020 After listening to this a few times, I think it's pretty great, especially from Eminem's perspective. While this certainly isn't my favorite Eminem delivery/flow, it's probably one of the best hyper-technical Eminem verses I've heard in recent years. This song makes me think that if Em wants to make a bunch of competitive rappity-rap albums, he should just forget song structure altogether and release the albums as a "mixtape" of ciphers, or something of that nature. This would remove the pressure of conceiving original songs (read: no more relationship songs) and allow him to do what he seems to enjoy most these days — out-rapping his peers. P.S. — The "indie route" bar is 100% a response to Snoop running his mouth.
Sep 6, 2020 this is a good point.. I just don’t think he has done much since then that can be ranked with his classic stuff.. (not saying he hasn’t done amazing stuff after) basically SSLP to Encore era and the only reason I include Encore is because of the songs that leaked that were supposed to be for that project and songs like toy soldiers which you can still listen to now and be like just wow. I truly believe if those songs didn’t leak Encore would have been on Eminem Show level. MMLP2 has a couple songs that I feel could have been on MMLP or Eminem Show although I don’t think this forum would agree but songs like So much better and stronger then I was, would have been big songs back then and I like Groundhog Day for example. but those green lantern tapes if I’m showing anyone who doesn’t appreciate Eminem now a days why I think he’s one of the greatest I’m showing them songs like The Sauce and I loved all 3 freestyles, Nail in the coffin, Bump Heads etc., was crazy times. Bully.. one Of my favorites is Monkey See Monkey Do. Anyone have that one in high quality?
Sep 6, 2020 If the song is supposed to be a cypher than em did what you are supposed to do , showing his skills and god d--- he did
Sep 6, 2020 Eminem’s flow annoyed me at first. But at the end of the day the 47 year old rap god washed everyone. “Rest assured, I'ma treat this roof like I'm peelin' off The plastic on a pill bottle, I'm tearin' the ceilin' off” “You would think I'm turnin' pages the way that I'm flippin' paper Middle fingers, them b------s get to wavin' like friendly neighbors I'm talkin' loot like I'm rioting“
Sep 6, 2020 In contrast to 10 years ago: “Treat this roof like my daughters and raise it” It’s like a completely different rapper lol
Sep 6, 2020 added a poll to the thread. I didn't include Em, Royce, or Sean because the poll would obviously skew to them—I'm more curious as to what the consensus favorite/best verse is from the lesser-known rappers are.
