@Ordinary Joel @El Ares I'll make another one of these types of threads soon, I didn't think it would be as popular as it was. I had a lot of fun doing it. -

There are days I think HHNF is the best rap album Ive ever listened to. From top to bottom theres flawless production the rhymes are dope (pun intended) and its so concise. I know the 90s are the formative years and deserve credit for the amount of classics that dropped in that era, but albums like this & Madvillainy are reminders that quality exists in any time period.Ordinary Joel, DKC, Mike Tyson and 2 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

His best project is tough to pin down. He was at his peak as a rapper at the time of C3, but his best retail album is probably the first Carter, followed closely by Like Father Like Son, Carter 2 and Carter 3 in that order. (Last two might be interchangeable.) When you throw in the mixtapes it gets tough: the obvious picks are Drought 3 and Dedication 2--I have them in that order, even though the first is so long--but then you have all the other Drought and Drought Is Over stuff, plus the C3 session stuff (not to mention The Leak).
Short answer is Drought 3 or the first Carter, but the problem is that the latter doesn't go very far toward explaining why he was the best rapper alive three years later.Ordinary Joel, Fire Squad, DKC and 2 others like this. -
