it's not "tru" though
immigration laws/legalised medicinal marijuana/indigenous rights/gay marriage allowed etc etc. America is more progressive than Australia, beleive it or not. Not to mention Australia pretty much ignored the raping/pilaging/genocide of Abos till like 8 years ago when we gave that flimsy "apology" atleast race issues in America are continuously identified brought to attention where as in Australia white men just say "wasn't me, i dont care". Oh and yeah, we are totally so progressive by having the harshest immigration laws in the world - "Oh you don't speak english, came by boat from another country, didn't fill in the proper paperwork and want to come here do you? too bad, permanently banned from the country haha!"

but the americans electing trump shows that they are unhappy with the government - they want immigration laws harsher than australia, they want gay marriage to be made illegal again, etc. etc. Whereas Aussies are usually somewhere between supporting it or not caring. Neither is good but obviously the latter is better as it is easier to change their minds. Personally i believe the american government has done the right thing in dragging their country to modernity kicking and screaming but if australia did that there would not be nearly as much opposition. either way societal progress should be forced. don't like it? get left behind while we march ahead

I suspect you're a very close minded individual that knows very little about politics in America. Some pretty big generalizations you are making about Trump voters - who hardly fall into one political ideology. Lots of Obama voters ended up defecting to Trump, they are hardly all right wingers.
