This'll be a controversial thread if it gets noticed enough, but the BLM protest movement at least to me is both something that needs to happen but also a disaster in America's current society. Instead of writing a 5 page essay I'll break this down to the highlight pros & cons I see & observe (& yes I'm white in case you were curious).

    Pros:
    >For the majority of the movement, addresses racism in America publicly with consistency (social media, peaceful protests, interviews on TV & Internet with high profile names) in a respectable manner
    >Makes it aware to younger generation that we have a lot of f----- up people in law & politics & that hate based on skin color is intolerable & stupid. Luckily I grew up in an environment where the few racists morons in my gen got knocked out by people of all backgrounds &/or eventually changed their ways after a long talk before they turned 18, despite being a predominately white town.
    >Inspires politicians to fix the systematic racism (not enough of them unfortunately)

    Cons:
    >The attention seekers that are straight up disrespectful & in your face, small but destructive to the cause because the media loves these stories. You can't approach a politician all pissed off & expect a respectable answer (see Hilary Clintons recent issue)
    > Protestors with incorrect facts, causing unecessary added anger & distrust on all sides (see Hilary's recent issue as an example again)
    > Protesting on Highways/Bridges/anywhere in front of cars that need to go somewhere. If I'm in an ambulance & I'm held up because the roads blocked & it's a matter of life to death, I would raise h--- if I lived & was able to find the f---s who held up the ambulance.
    > When Protest becomes riot. Rare, but sets back a lot of effort peaceful protestors made, fueling racist propaganda "Look at all those ******s destroying things when they don't get their way" seemed to be a common racist quote throughout the Internet.

Also, a good & bad: the phrase Black Lives Matter. Why? Because it gets interpreted wrong by everybody on all sides. It shouldn't be that way but from convos I've seen and heard who oppose this phrase, a white guy will typically say "All Lives Matter, quit making it like everybody else from other backgrounds doesn't have problems" which is true BUT this revolves specifically with statistical evidence of Cops & Politicians doing precise s--- to black people which whites & other ethnicities do not have to deal with, middle eastern descent Americans have it the worst here IMO but this thread isn't met for that. & black people who oppose BLM on the internet & in person for the most part believe all that phrase is doing is creating more racial divide & they don't really respect how they protest.

s--- I typed more than I expected lol. Thoughts?

In the last year 8 police officers were murdered in the line of duty. 7 of them were killed by white men.

And they all should've never been able to buy a gun, I can't judge mentally unstable people, only the people in charge of them.
