Sep 18, 2015 That analogy is pretty dodgy (as are most analogies used in arguments) as these are two completely different things. That's like if I said that the idea of continental drift wasn't universally accepted when first proposed (or accepted at all), and hence by your definition, not a thing until it was proven later. The fact that most people don't know whether or not it actually helps makes it something to discuss
