I heard earlier the camerman and the woman were dating? And the female turned the killer down or something. Hearing so many different stories. But fair enough. Either way what a piece of s---, there's literally no words I even feel like saying right now. Disgusting.

Gotta imagine his nerves were out of control, probably a lot of adrenaline as well.
Yeah the anchor was dating somebody in the control room for the news station. Sucks but he actually saw it happen live. He said that they had just recently moved in together.

That's pretty much my argument. I admit that all the time when this discussion comes up and I'm asked why I have guns. Cause I like them and enjoy going to the range to s---t them. I never say cause its my right, or for protection. It's cause I have fun shooting at targets.

I'm not sure if he was missing, getting shot isn't like in the movies.
Who exactly is they? Gun control is always the narrative after events such as this.

Don't need to treat me like an idiot.. I know that, I study it lol. The government needs to have better ways to make sure things like that happen less..

Because sweeping regulations that prohibit common and easily acquired things in America have worked so well in the past right? Prohibition in the 20s was fantastic, and the war on drugs has been so productive!!!!

I know I'm contributing to the annoying gun debate but I just find it distasteful that people use the murder of innocent lives to say "see this is why we should limit people's rights!" whenever past historical events in America have proven that's not a viable and realistic solution.

It's actually a fact that every single time in history that America has tried to regulate a freely available product it fails miserably and ends up causing a lot of needless death, organized crime, and arrests.

When America tried to outlaw alcohol it literally birthed gangs and modern crime as we know it, and the drug wars have just made cartels outside and inside America even more dangerous.

The reporter dated an anchor, they just moved in together. The cameraman was engaged to a producer at the station and it was her last day there. So she saw her fiancee get shot live on tv.

Thanks for clearing that up. I can't imagine the feeling of watching that go down from the control room.

Does anyone know why he was even there? He was fired from the station, right? Just wondering why an ex-employee showed up at 6:45 AM and how he knew they were gonna be there.

From what I've read he was a former intern who was offended that the anchor made racist comments and still got hired. He had an issue with the camera man because he went to HR after working with him once. There were a few tweets with the video, besides that nothing yet. He died from a self inflicted gun shot wound so hopefully the people he was in contact with can clear some of this up.

So he was meant to be there, working as an intern?

EDIT: Nvm not as intern, but he was still supposed to be there?

No, he was a former employee. The GM of WDBJ claims he had a reputation for being difficult to work with, and was fired because of anger problems and had to be escorted from the building by police.

Williams worked as a multimedia journalist at WDBJ from March 2012 to February 2013, according to a LinkedIn page. Before that, he worked as a communications director at NDG Interactive for more than seven years. He claimed to have graduated from San Francisco State University.

Flanagan filed a discrimination lawsuit against WTWC-TV in 2000, an NBC affiliate in North Florida, claiming a station producer called him a "monkey," Newsweek reported. The lawsuit settled for an undisclosed sum. Flanagan claimed in the suit that other black employees at the station "had also been called 'monkeys' by officials" there.

Couple of quotes from the scumbags 23 page letter he sent in after the shootings.

“Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15…”

“What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims’ initials on them."

“As for Dylann Roof? You (deleted)! You want a race war (deleted)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE …(deleted)!!!” He said Jehovah spoke to him, telling him to act.

Later in the manifesto, the writer quotes the Virginia Tech mass killer, Seung Hui Cho, calls him “his boy,” and expresses admiration for the Columbine High School killers. “Also, I was influenced by Seung–Hui Cho. That’s my boy right there. He got NEARLY double the amount that Eric Harris and Dylann Klebold got…just sayin.'"

In an often rambling letter to the authorities, and family and friends, he writes of a long list of grievances. In one part of the document, Williams calls it a “Suicide Note for Friends and Family."
    • He says has suffered racial discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying at work
    • He says he has been attacked by black men and white females
    • He talks about how he was attacked for being a gay, black man
“Yes, it will sound like I am angry...I am. And I have every right to be. But when I leave this Earth, the only emotion I want to feel is peace....”

“The church shooting was the tipping point…but my anger has been building steadily...I’ve been a human powder keg for a while…just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”
