I like it. Way better than Scorpion and dark lane demo tapes. Some good stuff on here but too many songs that feel like copy and pastes of songs he’s already made. Def a very safe album which isn’t always bad necessarily but I’d like to see him take more risks

Kanye still has interesting ideas but is too insane to make them coherent. Drake can make coherent music but doesn’t take enough risks. I think the only solution is that they should fight, then make out, then make their collab album.

Yeah starts off strong then it's a bunch of poppy R&B s---...

I like "Champagne Poetry," "Love All," and "7AM on Bridle Path" but most of the other tracks aren't for me.

Genuinely don’t know if this is better than Scorpion. The highs on this album are def the lowest out of any Drake album I can think of in recent memory. There’s no “Controlla,” “Nice For What,” or anything of that tier on here.

I’ve only listened once so far so too early to say for me but being better than scorpion is a pretty easy feat for me, that album has like a 4/27 batting average

Only listened once too but I’d take a lot of the first half of Scorpion over this tbh. “Fountains” is my favorite track I think & Drake is barely on it lol.

Can’t wait till we’re old and Kanye is like the beach boys to our generation, and the kids walk around like, “yeah, but late in his career he really thought he was literal glass of orange juice for a whole year.” And the other guy will be like, “yeah, but he made Yeezus and MBDTF though so it doesn’t matter and he’s a legend.”

shout out to Brian Wilson and pet sounds

The fact I forgot about scorpion till people compared it this piss take s--- c---- album just goes to show how s--- both projects were...

Huge fan of that drake 6 album (not tryna s--- post, genuinely forgot title of it) and this is just s---. It's like Tory lanez took elephant tranquilisers then tried to do the same style, just doesn't work. No enthusiasm/passion/drive etc.

Reception to me is one fo 3 avenues
    -omg drake sux donda won!!
-omg Kanye suc lover boy him won!!
-omg I'm a fan of both and living my best life

???? So confusing to me, this is legitimately drake and Kanye's worst album/s and c---- are hype like fucken wot????

Trying to keep an open mind here, but he sounds so uninspired on this.

lmaooo @ Kanye saying “on GD” & then admitting Drake sent that s--- to everyone when he said it. That’s for sure the corniest s--- Kanye has rapped in a while. Would be like Drake repping Bloods because of his affiliation with J. Prince lmfao.

This has got to be the most cringeworthy s--- I have ever seen in my entire life. What was Kanye Omari West thinking? Just because you're from The South Side of The Chi, doesn't mean you were involved in street/g--- politics. So you have no business pulling them into a quarrelsome affair with another artist, especially when you don't host real affiliation with The Gangster Disciples. That's like me really saying "On BD.", just because I love Glory Boys Entertainment. *Shudders*

Furthermore, and digressing back to the topic at hand, Drake has a few more highs on here than Scorpion (Even with Disc A having quite a bit of his most underrated material to date.), but I don't know if I'd technically say it's way better than Disc A.

It is better than that project as a whole though, as it was bloated. Emotions might be Top 5 Drake, when it's all said and done, and I'm hard-pressed to find a moment on this album that feels just as gut-wrenching (And you know that's his strong suit.).

However, I ended up liking more of the album that I initially expected to.

The initial general consensus reaction seems to be leaning more on the underwhelmed side for most of you guys. I have to say I might share those same sentiments.

Notwithstanding all of that, this is nowhere near "Take Care"-level for me. I personally don't think he'll ever top that, album-wise. Maybe that's just me. I hope I'm wrong.

As @Boos said before, and I don't mind reiterating this one million times more, but it has been long overdue for Drake to challenge himself.

He is seriously the safest artist in the world. It's going to hurt his ego in the long run when people are really fiending for the contemporary juggernauts to push the envelope and reinvent the wheel again, but he's still insistent on remaining complacent with people's conclusion on what he's fundamentally-driven by (Popularity and relatability. I admire Kanye for not caring if he has to alienate a particularly myopic demographic of listeners, even if they were his diehard aficionados. They'll eventually understand what he was trying to convey, at any given point in time he decides to release the utmost unconventional record to date by an artist as colossal as him, in terms of sustainable notoriety.).

Kanye is coming close. I think his next music outing will possibly be his last, so I think whatever he was trying to bring to a standardized front, will finally come into fruition by the time he drops that album. For Drake, he should do that on two consecutive albums because I'm sick of this formulaically-predictable approach, to be honest. I will say that.
