Dec 16, 2016 Russian spies hacked the DNC and published emails through Wikileaks in effort to give Clinton bad publicity and assist Trump in winning the White House (this is according to 17 federal agencies including the FBI, CIA and DHS) There's been no confirmation of the accuracy of the emails but some argue that Wikileaks has never been wrong in the past (which may or may not be true idk). On the other hand though, in the past Wikileaks has been the direct source of leaks where as with these emails, they are the middle man with Russian spies obtaining them.
