    If Section80 is a pending classic, I think it's more than fair to call FNL a classic. It has some of J. Cole's best work. The Warm Up isn't far behind it either.

    Friday Night Lights is a great collection of songs but that's it. Section 80. flows extremely well together it'd be hard for me to say FNL has songs as good as Poe Mans Dream or Ronald Regan Era.

    I don't know, i would say Kendrick right now but Cole is dope as a rapper and as a producer too. Let's say that it depends on how i feel

    Really? I don't think FNL is just a great collection of songs. It showcases a lot of his struggles as a child and teenager, trying to figure out what he wants to do. It's basically his story.

    Edit: Plus it showcased his talents of a producer. The whole thing is almost entirely produced by him.

    Cole, never been a big fan of kendrick. I can see why people choose kendrick but it's definitely not by a long shot. They're pretty even.

    His only average stuff is CWSS and maybe Born Sinner. His first three mixtapes were good-great at least.

    Edit: Even CWSS has gems. Lost Ones is one of my favorite J. Cole songs.

    not average as in quality, but he has no real traits as a rapper. he doesn't make radio s---, but he also doesn't innovate. he's in rapper limbo, and unless he switches up his s--- will never be considered classic.

    I personally prefer Cole. And I appreciate his productions as well.

    But I think I can say Kendrick is the better all-around artist. He just doesn't suit my personal tastes as well as Cole does.

    They're both my favs though and I don't think Cole is too far behind Kendrick. Still waiting on that collab album.

    He's not the most innovative rapper out there, but why does he have to be? He's still kinda innovative. When's the last time someone had a platinum album with no features. Or had a tour bus that went around thanking fans for buying his album. His album is named after his childhood home. That's been done before, but hardly. Pushed BS up a few weeks to compete with Yeezus, and outsold it.

    As far as his traits go, I think he's one of the better story tellers in rap. It's really easy for me to paint a picture in my mind as he raps.

    Being a nice person does not mean you're a great rapper.

    Yeezus sold more first week (327k vs 297k) and Yeezus has also gone platinum, while BS hasn't.

    Wasn't using that as an argument for him being a great rapper, just being innovative. Very rarely does a rapper give back to their fans as much as J. Cole. And as in terms of the sales #'s... I kinda f----- up there. J Cole beat him to Gold, which is what was stuck in my head lol. My bad there.

    Drizzy runs circles around both of them so they have a great little competition for the 2nd spot, but in the end, nobody cares for the 2nd and 3rd.

    Kendrick is the better lyricist but Cole is better in pretty much everything else.
