Sep 29, 2015Nah, it's Spanish. I was born in Peru but came over to the states like 2 weeks after I turned 6. I was in ESL classes myself, didn't know a bit of English and now people can't even tell its not my native tongue. Im extremely thankful for the classes too, idk where'd I'd be had the public school system not offered them. My parents sure as h--- wouldn't have been able to afford it back then. I wanna pay back the favor in a way, help the kids that are in the same position I was once in. Adults too, I've worked a few jobs now and theres always these dudes who are smart and hard workers, but get seen as ignorant just because they don't speak English. I'm always just like, "wow, if you spoke English you could probably be a plumber, or do your own thing". As opposed to having to work for other dudes who cash off of them. Lol idk, I kinda just want to make a difference I guess.

About to declare English Major. Basically I'm aiming to get into a Master's Program called TESOL which qualifies you to Teach English as a Second Language to Other Learners. I spoke to my advisor about which major would be most appropriate, she told me to just get a bachelor's. Figured I'd go with English since I've always wanted to improve my writing. Once I get into the program and graduate I'll be able to teach English to all of my vatos and foreign peeps so that we can take the U.S. back from the white people. A revolution is coming...

- Started with Computer Science. Wanted to design/build video games like every other CS major.
- That was rough, almost failed my first programming class.
- Switched to Advertising because I enjoyed design.
- Graduated with a degree in Advertising with an outside concentration in Graphic Design.
- Now I don't work in Advertising.

Getting in to a Canadian law school is pretty difficult given that there are only about 10 laws schools here, versus 150+ in the US. But I've built a pretty good application up until this point though (work experience, volunteer experience, GPA and LSAT score).
Not sure how familiar you are with the process, but I got a 160 on the LSAT so I'm going back this Saturday to try to crack 170 and guarantee myself admission. I doubt I'll score that high, but hey - s---t for the moon right?
If I don't get in this time around, I'll either take my talents to the US or just practice accounting. I hope to God I don't settle for the latter though, I'd probably s---t myself lol.Ordinary Joel, Deadpool, Loyalty and 3 others like this. -

My wife is actually a second-year law student here in the states, so yeah I know what you're talking about! She got a 168 on the LSAT in 2013, which was 94th percentile so I'm sure 170 will definitely get you in if you already have a good application already. I didn't know there were so few law schools in Canada though, wow. Good luck! Keep us updated, I'm interested to hear how it goes.
& hopefully you don't have to be an accountant.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Information Technology, emphasis in Web Development and Physical Geography (think digital map-making)
@Mike Tyson did you get those concurrently? If not, what made you go back to school? Are you in the career path you want now? Lots of Q's, I know ;DOrdinary Joel, Deadpool, Mike Tyson and 1 other person like this. -
