    for reference on how little testing is still taking place in the US:
    my friend's a nurse and was directly exposed (coughed or sneezed right into her) when she didn't have a mask on... the patient tested positive for covid. they sent her home and said to quarantine for 14 days. she developed all the symptoms, but because she didn't have serious fever (was low and inconsistent) or difficulties breathing, they said she didn't qualify for a test.

    Mosquitos are the most common vector for various infectious diseases. Mosquitoes live in warmer climates & with climate change warming the earth as a whole, it’ll allow mosquitos to migrate to regions of the world they wouldn’t typically migrate to. There’s already been evidence of this in regions in Asia & Africa. Lockdowns like this will undoubtedly become the norm if we continue down this current path.

    What’s really going unmentioned in the midst of this pandemic is that one of the consequences of climate change is more rampant spread of infectious diseases. Lockdowns like we’re experiencing right now across the world could become the norm.

    I'm from India and this is false advertisement. Section80 is my fam so I gotta tell u these are just some uneducated idiots who don't care about anyone or anything and would create more problems being outside. The lockdown is the only thing that's gonna help us not to turn into Italy or Spain.

    So, as I said, by January, the WHO was raising alarms about the spread of the virus outside of China. The U.S. sat on its hands until late February/early March?


    There’s an entire process behind declaring outbreaks, pandemics, epidemics etc. & it’s not about the severity of the situation. It’s about where the disease is spreading.

    The U.S. & Europe shouldn’t have needed to wait for the WHO to declare a pandemic for them to finally take action. They are huge government entities with their own medical experts who, at least in the United States case, were telling the government to prep for a potential pandemic long before the WHO declared one. Trump brushed off all those warning & downplayed risks for over a month as the virus consumed China, Iran & Italy.

    Adjusted for population comparison between Italy & U.S. Keep in mind, this is also with the U.S. very behind in terms of testing & we’re still doing worse off.
