I think restaurants & venues should start try to serve outside.
Hard in the winter to do this but indoors is terrible with this virus.

New restrictions go live in the UK today.

*Pubs/bars/restaurants all have to be locked shut by 10pm
*Face coverings in all public places (now including pubs/bars/restaurants) unless you're at a table eating and drinking
    *Table service only in pubs/bars/restaurants
*All servers now have to wear face coverings whilst working

This seems unfairly aimed at the Hospitality sector. One of the sectors already hugely affected by restrictions. f--- this s---.

I don’t know how significant the anti-vax movement is in your guys country but in the U.S., it’s significant enough to thwart herd immunity efforts via vaccination. We can’t afford to lose anymore public trust when it comes to vaccines but I fear political pressure from the Trump administration may rush the clinical trial process in efforts to salvage Trump’s re-election. You see this already happening in authoritarian countries like Russia. If something goes wrong, there are unexpected side effects, it’ll give the anti-vax movement life & something to *actually* be concerned about.

I think the US is in real trouble.
Its totally out of control & they are not 100% sure a vaccine will be possible or even if people can get re-infected or not.

The damage Trump has done is one of the most disgraceful acts by a leader. Turned the virus into a political war when you have his dumb supporters refusing to distance or wear masks until Trump himself has worn one.

People are concentrating too much on death rates too. Who wants chronic fatigue, kidney damage or insomnia which is what this virus can do

Yep, slap b--- in the center. Nothing has changed too much around here really. There's been hundreds of people on the streets every day during lockdown. Definately more now though.

We haven't handled it well tbh. Our government has just told us that we need to rely on our common sense. Common sense is a f---ing super power nowadays! So there was no common approach really and no definitive MUST DO/DO NOT DO from the government.
Shown in the death toll really.

If there is no second wave, the conspiracy theorists will have a field day.

U.S. needs more testing & contact tracing if we want to return to any form of normalcy. We can’t just reopen & hope for the best. The south tried to do that & they’re in shambles right now having to re-close bars & restaurants. It also doesn’t help that mask wearing has become incredibly politicized. Tough reality is that a second wave is probably going to hit the U.S. hard & we’re ill prepared to deal with it which likely means states shutting everything down again because that’s really the only option we have left.

I always get pho (Vietnamese soup) when I’m sick and I can usually taste that pretty well cuz the broth + hot sauce is so flavorful and spicy. That’s one thing I miss about Seattle is there was pho close by no matter where you were, I had to go on a journey to find it in ATL

whistleblower who worked in HHS & was demoted for refusing to push hydroxychloroquine—a drug Trump continuously touted as being effective against the coronavirus even though medical experts were skeptical.

I know this is prob gonna sound like bs lol but one of my roommates from college (masters in chemistry) works for the company in Cambridge that developed the first vaccine in the USA. He said he was only tangentially involved in the project but that they've dedicated tons of man power to it because we're in unprecedented circumstances. They developed the first vaccine for trial in 42 days. I'm sure people are overworked, but there's a reason things like this go through rigorous trials and testing.

Finding vaccines isnt a priority usually due to it not being profitable. But for cases like covid there is usually different motivations
