Getting my first real taste of southern politics with GA opening everything back up today. Brian Kemp is a f---ing moron.

Just got my stimulus check in the mail yesterday, can't wait for this to be 100% gone and then some next week after I pay rent and a deposit and move into a new spot lol. Don't get me wrong I'm thankful for the cash but I can't imagine what it's like for people who lost their jobs 100%. Cuz this helps me out and I get to keep working and making money, for other people this is gone within the month and then what? Unemployment yeah, but that can vary so much.

There’s not a single super power that hasn’t explored bio engineering of viruses in the lab. Not a single one.

That doesn’t mean that this was one of those. People jumping to conclusions because they love a good conspiracy. Everything else is stretching of speculation & imaginations right now.

I was sent an hour long YouTube conspiracy video today...I caved and watched the whole thing, but within the first 5 minutes, they made the argument that it came from a lab because bats aren’t sold at the wuhan wet markets...that’s great, and they’re not sold there, but it’s been said from the start that it went: bat->pangolin->market. They’re basically just pandering without doing the most basic of research in these claims & videos.

Nope.
Every outlet and resource has officially been reporting it as “droplet” from day 1, with some scenarios where it can become an “aerosol”. Its vehemently been classified as not being airborne (though, you will find some articles where it’s highly debated, but hasn’t ever been classified as being so).

The scenario highly reported where it can aerosolize greatly is during intubation. I think it’s becoming more aware/plausible that it can also aersolize when sneezing or coughing.

To better define (because I’ve gone down this giant rabbit hole today) the differences between droplet, aerosol, & airborne:
- droplet has larger particles in diameter/mass and therefore quickly submits to gravity and falls to the ground/surfaces. This is why you shouldn’t touch things and then touch your face
- aerosol is basically a “temporary airborne”, or a “conditional airborne”, where it can live in the air for a certain amount of time, but then eventually dissipates, adheres to gravity, or dries up and dies and becomes non-contagious at the volume of molecules in the air
- airborne vs droplets is a much more gray area when distinguishing. From what I’ve been reading, it pertains to molecule diameter (and possibly how long it remains contagious in the suspended/aersolized state).

...here’s the scientific definition regarding droplet vs airborne:
"Coronaviruses form enveloped and spherical particles of 100–160 nm in diameter."
reference for the next quote: 100 nm = .1 μm

"Airborne particles embrace a very wide range of sizes, mainly of solid material or droplets floating in the atmosphere. The smallest being only a few nanometres in diameter whilst the largest range up to 100 μm in diameter. Particles with a diameter smaller than 10 μm are able to remain airborne for a long period; in some cases those particles can stay in the air for several weeks, while those particles with a diameter larger than 10 μm are large enough to deposit quickly under the influence of gravity."

......meaning that covid is WELL within range of being categorized as not only airborne, but airborne enough to hypothetically stay in the air for extended periods of time (by a factor of 100).

The unknown is how long it remains contagious in the air before it dries out and dies + how much of the contagious molecules you need to ingest before becoming infected. I think this is largely unanswered in the scientific community thus far and I’ve seen sone conflicting opinions from testing...in which case, I understand why agencies are saying it can aersolize, without using the term airborne, but based on my rabbit hole of searches, it seems like if the contagion levels remain when aersolized, and it’s enough in that air to actually infect someone, then it technically is “airborne”. Both of those are unknown.

Basically: media outlets have been loudly reporting it as “droplet” since day one. And not-so-loudly mentioned aerosol, but identified intubation as the large offender in a hospital setting. And haven’t called it airborne at all. Might be due to lack of enough definitive supporting data, but it’s also less fear-inducing to say its “droplets” and not airborne because airborne is mass hysteria. Which...tbh, people kinda needed to hear a couple weeks ago to take the distancing thing even further.
