    I have half an ethereum now, and I don't plan on cashing out on it. From my research, ETH is one of those cryptos that's going to have good longevity and sustainability. You may not see a big pay out right now or anytime soon, but I'm going to stick it out. I don't know about it outdoing bitcoin but I'm down to see that if it does.

    Just invested in XLM and XRP.... I usually only arbitrage crypto but I decided to hold a small amount of these, might be a little late on them though

    What do you guys think about Bytecoin (BCN)? these coins that can be transferred practically instantly I think will perform better in the long run

    instant transfers isn't really something that would attract me to a crypto. I haven't heard of Bytecoin though.

    The best time to buy eth was yesterday my dude. Ya it'll drop down below 900 most likely but it's feasible for it to hit 10,000 in a couple years.

    I’m going to keep a close eye on it the next few days and try buying at the right time.

    Anyone else thinking about flipping their tax return money investing in more cryptocurrency?

    If you look at cycles it's great for eth when all these little guys like ripple go up quickly then down. Eth and bitcoin tend to jump up

    I have quite a few eths and bought early a loooong time ago. I won't say how many (unless I have in a previous post) The last time I bought any eth was when it hit $10. I cashed out about 500 eth when it hit $100 to pay of some credit card debt and now that it has hit $1000 I'm thinking about taking out about 50% just in case something happens, and riding it out with the rest.

    tone of the article seems like the author is on his soapbox preaching... that said, i read the entire thing and i honestly was waiting for them to make some sort of point. nobody was ever led astray that ripple was a decentralized entity or that their creators weren't getting wealthy off of it. the fact that the author stated that they previously endorsed the product and that their "info" in the article is news to them tells me that they did literally zero research about the coin to begin with... they're literally stating what would have been on the front page of any publication had they previously done their homework.

    you don't lose money when you take profits off the table. that said, be sure to not panic sell anything. i've only been in it for a little while now, but if i've learned one thing, then it's to not make brash decisions and that holding your position is usually the best option because crypto has a way of bouncing back.

    there was definitely a correction of sorts that took place today for some of the higher profile coins, but like you said -- that was expected. buy the dips if you can.

    that said, if looking at charts today, you'll probably be a bit more panicked if viewing from a btc chart... as bitcoin goes up, the satoshi (btc) value of the altcoins go down. so even if tehre was no correction on alts today, the bitcoin value per coin of your altcoins would have dropped significantly, but your USD would have stayed the same... not sure where your knowledge falls on this, but it's worth noting and took me some time to get comfortable with myself.

    as far as ethereum goes -- i honestly haven't been following it that closely and would only be speculating when i say that it still has a long ways to grow. that's pretty much the case with all things crypto right now...we're in our infancy. so if you believe in the coin then i would hold steady. you'll have dips and corrections, but especially for one of the "established" coins, i think it'll have some legs in the longterm. 1k will likely be a milestone for many investors and could be met with resistance. if it doesn't topple it, then there's a chance that it'll drop immediately following hitting it as owners sell their position and wait for a dip to correct.

    Thanks for response... I guess what worries me is that I didn't realize that 60% of the XRP is still held by the creators meaning they could easily manipulate the market at any time. Is that right?
