Same here. When I was buying litecoins for 40$ my dad said I wouldn’t do that, that’s r-----ed. Once he saw me earn a few thousand just starting out for fun basically now he follows bitcoins price everyday too. I told my dad keep losing money in fantasy football though that never returns a high profit.

And I get tired listening to the uneducated people saying to sell as soon as these coins hit a peak. Like stfu If I listened to everyone i would have sold my lite coin at 100.

The thing that annoys me about everyone getting into cryptocurrencies now is that they look at them as an investment opportunity instead of what it's actually supposed to be -- a totally new paradigm for currency. People think there's a "bubble" because they think it's like a stock that's meant to be traded for USD.

The cool thing about having 1 BTC isn't that now you have +/- $15,000... the cool thing is that now you have 1 BTC.

Anyone trading crypto for quick cash is guilty of this.

Sometimes I get into deep thought and think, are these other cryptocurrencies really worth anything since everything is based off of bitcoin’s value to begin with? Are all these other currencies only rising because of bitcoins rising popularity? Basically they’re only worth what people “think” they are?

And my other thought is let’s say digital currency really is the future, wouldn’t bitcoin have to collapse for other cryptocurrencies to become more valuable? Or would a total bitcoin crash cause a domino effect and all the other cryptos would follow? It’s confusing.

All the current crypto currencies fail this way, people are investing so much the original appeal for their use is failing. Transaction costs are increasing and the people who where originally using it won’t be using it for long. The price will fall shortly when the hype around buying it and then realizing the instability of price makes it virtually useless.
