Aug 5, 2015 Thats good for Sean but Sean at the time was much more marketable and "famous" than Cyhi was in their respective positions. If Cyhi gets his debut from this that will be great and like I said its a bold move and clearly it will work out if that happens. Cyhi was also much more direct and extremely blunt with his words towards Kanye nonetheless his artist in Pusha T. I can only hope this results in his debut being released on G.O.O.D but I don't see that happening. It should be interesting how this plays out. Regardless it should help enhance Cyhi's fanbase. If he gets dropped from G.O.O.D which will probably happen where will he go? Who will sign him? Will he go to T.I. and Grand Hustle because they're both from Atlanta. Sick dude he went from a prominent label headed by arguably the biggest name in all of music to a respectable label headed by a respected artist whose clearly on the decline. The resources at his disposal under Kanye are leagues ahead of T.I. I'm more interested to see if Kanye will record a diss track and how the entire thing plays out.
Aug 5, 2015 TI is a waaaaaaaaay better label manager than Kanye. I love yeezy but he's straight a--- cheecks at managing s---. You think Sean was in a marketable position but he wasn't, at the time he was some unknown with a hypebeast following. Cyhi certainly ain't gonna be making pop hits but he's marketable as a Pusha T type. I'd honestly way rather him go to grand hustle and get an album out than wait for ye to realize he f----- up and come help him out.
Aug 5, 2015 If it meant we could get his album quicker than for the short term I agree. And no way would I say T.I. Is a wayyyyyy better label head. What has he put that's so incredible that earns him to say he's that much better of a label head? For the long term Kanye would be a much better fit for him but if he's pigeon holding him and delaying his album obviously he needs to get out so he can release his music.
Aug 5, 2015 What I mean is that Kanye has had to be dissed TWICE now by his own artists just so they'll get his attention. That's super f----- up. Then he's always so busy with his s--- he doesn't put the time into his labelmates albums, he even admitted so with teyanas album. And then when TI has put out 2 label tapes, both better than cruel summer, and all featuring every single artist, usually 3 or 4 on one song. Kanye gave cyhi 8 bars on a whole album but gave Cudi a whole song to his own. He's not good at managerial decisions.
Aug 5, 2015 Can't really argue that I think Kanye is a good label head just like T.I and I was just using T.I. As a benchmark cyhi could very well go to some random label. I just want the dude to be able to release his music as he pleases especially since he wants to put out music. We see how stressful it can be for fans to get music from their artist when the artist/label doesn't want to release music I.e. Jay Z and Jay Electronica. Lets just see how this plays out it should be interesting.
Aug 5, 2015 Makes sense. Kanye is garbage at promoting his G.O.O.D music crew. He had Cruel Summer then after that he got to caught up in his own personal endeavors
Aug 5, 2015 Even cruel summer was awful at displaying artists. He gave Cudi his own song but gave cyhi a total of like 16 bars
Aug 5, 2015 You and I have talked about this before. Kanye is a HORRIBLE label head. Because he is so focused on what he is doing (when most of the time their releases wouldn't interfered with his releases, but y'all know kanye, he needs all of the attention), artists that are signed to good music get their projects pushed back so many times, that by the time they release, there is ZERO hype. A perfect example is MNIMN. I swear, that album was gonna be the next Detox.
Aug 5, 2015 surprised he didn't just call the song "Kanye" since it's pretty much a reimagining of "Kim"
