Feb 1, 2016 You think it was Kanye's fault we have Iggy or Macklemore? Iggy and Macklemore are products of the white part of the industry, made for 13-14 year old girls who think they can "whip" and "nae nae". This dude, on the other hand has won 21 Grammys. The only artist's that have won more then him are U2 and Stevie Wonder. Kanye is in a league of his own, far above anyone else. You really think it was his fault, drake used a "ghostwriter"? Drake's whole sound built on So Far Gone & Take Care was basically 808's & Heartbreak, so if you're gonna say bs, blame it on the right person. I'm a Kendrick stan for life, but when s--- like this is said, I have to intervene.
Feb 1, 2016 It was the start of the downfall for Eminem. I mean compared to his brilliant performance at the 2001 Grammys, this was just subpar.
Feb 1, 2016 he is the reason they are ACCEPTED AND RESPECTED in hip hop. he made it ok to be soft and weak with 808s. he made it ok to be fake. he might not be the reasson macklemore and iggy exist, but he is the reason they are accepted in the hip hop community
Feb 1, 2016 his performance was great imo but the rest was + Lose Yourself isnt an easy song to perform live I agree tho, he was heavy on drugs since mid 02 (i guess). it was def since the 8 mile filming
Feb 1, 2016 No one accepts Macklemore & Iggy in hip-hop aside from White People who listen to the top 40. Various forums on the internet, SXN 80, KTT, Hip Hop Shelter, RG Etc. all hate them. Why do you think Macklemore & Iggy don't feature on any hot hip hop songs? NO ONE LIKES THEM. They are the black sheep of the genre. That's why they are only featured on pop songs. And 808's was never a hip hop album, it was an R&B album. And even if it was soft or subjectively "weak", at least Kanye could branch out and be different. Where is 50 Cent or half the people from the mid 2000's? Oh yeah thats right, making subpar mixtapes and trying to revive a group of old wannabe gangstas, because he and people like you wouldn't come out of the "box" that hip-hop was supposed to be like. People say hip-hop is dead, but we had one of the best years in Hip-hop in 2015 since the 90's!
Feb 1, 2016 It wasn't a bad performance, but compared to "Stan", it just wasn't as good. And i'd say the drugs took over in Mid 2003. Even in early 2003, it was getting to him. Compare "Patiently Waiting" to "Don't Push Me" and you'll even see a difference here.
Feb 1, 2016 Dude, I went to the Yeezus tour and bought a shirt. Since then, every time I wear it, people say I was extremely lucky to have that chance. You're insane. And I don't think "bumping it in the hood" is a very good standard to judge music lol
Feb 1, 2016 Nothing/no one is killing rap lol. There was just as much s-----y rap in the 90s and 2000s as there is now, we just don't remember any of it because it's not worth remembering.
Feb 2, 2016 op is so right lmao who you think influenced drake to use ghostwriters?? not to talk that 808's so incredible influence was only on s----average rappers 808 was also corny s--- singing for b---- a--- n----s left by their gf
Feb 2, 2016 yeezus is the definition of how a rapper can make a s--- s-----y album and his fans would take it as granted kanye can release rebirth and his fans will say it's incredible and revolutionary
Feb 2, 2016 he was not the first to do those things ,808 or how yeezus sound(s---) , he was the first to be with them in mainstream but he failed so bad with yeezus, it's so funny
Feb 2, 2016 his production carried him for more than half of his career , admit if it wasnt for his great production more than 75% of you wouldnt care for him
