May 22, 2015 Or do you now if you're under 17? If so what was the easiest way for you to do it? I did sometimes, usually by getting tickets for another movie and then sneaking into the R rated one. Although this wouldn't work on release day or for popular movies at the theater I went to since they had a guard right outside the theater checking tickets. A few times when I was 14-16 and could pass for 17, I just had my parents or an older adult buy the tickets and then went in. There's also a few times I just convinced someone to go with me so I wouldn't have to deal with this BS. I do remember at least one time a buddy of mine and me tried to go see a movie and got caught, so we ended up having to watch whatever crappy movie it was we bought tickets for that we had no interest in. I believe the movie we were trying to see was Jason X, ended up seeing it about a week later.
May 23, 2015 nah.. I never needed to, when I was 16/17 most of my friends were over 18..so it worked out well
May 23, 2015 But if you're under 17 don't you need someone over 21 to get in? Also you never wanted to see an R rated movie when you were younger than 16 or 17?
May 23, 2015 we would run in as people were exiting and slink into one of the theaters close to the door good times
May 23, 2015 naw it was 18 (might be 21 now)..and yea I did, that's why I never really had a problem getting in..because my friends were of age..lol
May 23, 2015 Hmmm weird, could have sworn the rule was you have to be 17 to get in but if you're bringing in someone younger with you then you have to be 21 to do that. Maybe it's different in some areas? I don't know.
May 23, 2015 they only really say so if its r for more than a couple boobies or something. probably because breasts are legal here
May 23, 2015 My friend and I were too much of bitchs to sneak into Wanted, so we went and saw The Incredible Hulk instead.
May 23, 2015 Maybe the theaters around here s----d at checking, but I've been able to view R rated movies since I was like 14 lol.
May 23, 2015 The theaters in my area growing up were really strict do we had to have one of our parents purchase a ticket, walk in with us and leave once the trailers started. Those were some of my absolute favorite memories growing up. I remember doing that with The Rock on opening day which was the last day of 5th grade. The Scream movies and He Got Game were also memorable.
