Hello everyone! I’m making it a point this year (and even beyond) to finally take the time to listen to the discographies of many artists I have been meaning to check out, and revisit discographies that I love. I wanted somewhere to log it besides my notes in my phone and AOTY, so I thought it would be fun to bring it here! Everytime I finish an album, I’m gonna post it with the score I gave it and where it ranks in the artist’s discography so far. Feel free to discuss these albums with me! Treating this as a journal of sorts.

Here’s my list, sorted by (mostly) first time listens and revisits!

**As of 04/02/25, I'll be going back and forth between new visits and revisits, alternating with each discog. For example, after Joey, I will listen to Tyler, then I'll listen to TV Girl, then I'll listen to Eminem, so on and so forth. Feel like this works so it doesn't take forever to get to the revisits while also not disregarding the new visits.**

    New (or Mostly New) Visits:
    • The Weeknd [1/29/25-1/31/25]
    • MF DOOM [1/31/25-2/06/25]

You Only Die 1nce - Freddie Gibbs

    Score: 85

Freddie's latest project and the last project on this 16 project run. Solid project and rounds out his discography so far! This was actually my first Freddie Gibbs album, I listened to it earlier this year for my 2024 album marathon and I quite enjoyed it then too, but I got a whole lot more context for it after listening to Freddie's 15(!!!) prior projects. Cannot wait to see what he cooks up this year with Madlib.

    TESTING - A$AP Rocky

    Score: 70

    cc: @Yeez @albumdrill

Yeahhh I can see why this album is Rocky's lowest reviewed. It's not terrible by any means, it just did not grab me or keep my attention like the other albums did. It felt slower, despite it being his shortest album to date, and it just did not hit as hard. I can def see how some people like it, and some people hate it. After hearing bits and pieces of his performance at Rolling Loud last night with the new snippets and the recent features, I feel like DON'T BE DUMB will be a big return to form for Rocky (whenever it drops).

    A$AP Rocky Ranked:
    1. LONG.LIVE.A$AP - 90

    3. AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP - 85

ALLA has some of my favorite Rocky songs but it definitely quite a few I skip.

    Canal St
    LSD
    Excuse Me
    JD
    LPFJ2
Electric Body (minus the chorus lol)
    Ms
    Dreams

    ALL top tier.

I wish he would have cut out some of the lesser tracks and added Multiply...that song is to good to not be on there

    $oul $old $eparately - Freddie Gibbs

    Score: 85

    cc: @Wreckless

Another dope album from Freddie, his weakest since the self titled project, but not by much! Was cool seeing some different names on this project such as Moneybagg Yo and Offset (even though his voice was autotuned like crazy when it did not need to be). Another solid project where I enjoyed every track, just not as good as Fetti, Bandana, and Alfredo IMO.

I think Clairo has one of the most consistently good discographies I’ve ever heard, same with The Weeknd. That’s part of why they are some of my favorite singers of all time. From Clairo’s diary 001 EP all the way to her 2024 release Charm most of it is great tbh. Even though it’s not an album, I really recommend that diary 001 EP as it has some of her most iconic songs

Black b------s - KMD (MF DOOM & DJ Subroc)

    Score: 8.0

You can just tell that this was recorded in the early 90’s. I read that this album was just about to wrap recording when DJ Subroc, DOOM’s brother, was killed sudden by a car. The album then was shelved by the label they were signed to, Elektra, just to be released to the world in 2000. However, this album was still fantastic and I’m glad it’s available to stream! Like I said, you can tell it was recorded in the early 90’s, and I love that it has that feel! Will more than likely be a standout album in DOOM’s discog for that alone.

RIP DJ SUBROC + MF DOOM

    Next Up: Vaudeville Villain

Couldn't type up my thoughts on After Hours and Dawn FM before Hurry Up Tomorrow dropped, so it felt right to do it all in one post.

    THE WEEKND'S FINAL TRILOGY:

    After Hours - 9.0

What can you say about this project that hasn't already been said? This album carried the insane year that was 2020 with MULTIPLE billion+ stream hits under its belt. This project absolutely earned those streams and deserves to be as recognized as it is.

    Dawn FM - 8.5
While a slight step down from After Hours, this project still produces an awesome mix of songs with some different features as well, tapping Tyler and Wayne into the mix. Also, Jim Carrey takes a break from fighting Sonic to narrating a Weeknd album as a radio host. Another b-----r project.

    Hurry Up Tomorrow - 8.5
Became a bigger fan of The Weeknd in under 48 hours with a big binge of his discog, and this album just put a big bow on a legendary career as "The Weeknd." Keep doing great things Abel! We will be watching.

    The Weeknd Ranked:
    1. Echoes Of Silence - 9.5
    2. After Hours - 9.0
    3. House Of Balloons - 9.0
    4. Dawn FM - 8.5
    5. Hurry Up Tomorrow - 8.5
    6. Beauty Behind The Madness - 8.5
    7. Starboy - 8.0
    8. My Dear Melancholy, - 8.0
    9. Thursday - 8.0
    10. Kiss Land - 7.5

    THE WEEKND DISCOG RATING: 8.45

    Starboy - The Weeknd

    Score: 8.0

It was nice! It's the most different Weeknd project thus far, and the production was pretty fun throughout the album. Was very strong very consistently, but dropped down in quality towards the end of the project. An entertaining listen and I see why this one stands out in his discography!

    The Weeknd Ranked:
    1. Echoes Of Silence - 9.5
    2. House Of Balloons - 9.0
    3. Beauty Behind The Madness - 8.5
    4. Starboy - 8.0

Beauty Behind The Madness - The Weeknd

    Score: 8.5

Lots and lots of classic songs on this album, and a step up from Kiss Land. Easily one of Abel's biggest albums, with 4 songs over a billion streams, 1 of those with over two billion, and another 1 of those about to hit two billion. As an overall project though, it is a solid body of work! It feels like a cleaned up version of his earlier sound mixed with the best parts of Kiss Land. Clearly, he is becoming The Weeknd that we know today on this album.

    The Weeknd Ranked:
    1. Echoes Of Silence - 9.5
    2. House Of Balloons - 9.0
    3. Beauty Behind The Madness - 8.5
    4. Thursday - 8.0
