    RIP to one of the greatest. While I was preaching holding out hope because we didn't have all the facts, I am also a firm believer in cutting off life support at a certain point in situations such as this. I would not want to be artificially kept alive like that, and while I'm sure that's a crushing decision to have to make, I think it's the right one.

    I hope that, if anything good can come from a person's death, it's that it will help show people that mental illness and drug addiction are not new things in rap. It's not just so-called "soundcloud rappers"—this stuff has always been an issue. DMX was an undeniably funny person who did some wild things, and it's OK to marvel and laugh at that—but if you only think about people like DMX solely as the butt of a joke, this stuff is going to keep happening. A little more compassion will go a long way.

    I was always under the assumption that Slippin was censored on the album because the record company f----- up when they printed it and had to keep it. Never really looked into it, but supposedly turns out the artist he sampled wouldn't let him use it if there were curse words. I have the uncensored version I got years ago but it's not great quality

    f--- man this is honestly making me tear up. What a life that man lived in terms of both ups and downs, and he was always so full of energy regardless of his status.

    The man was on top of the world and it's been painful seeing his demons chip away at him over the past decade and a bit. Even more harrowing and upsetting to hear that those demons themselves started when he was basically a child.

    Pulling for a miracle but dreading that this may be it too.

    DMX passed away at 50 years old...
    But that's in human years.
    My dog lived to be 350, if you ask me he lived a long and prosperous life... And all dogs go to heaven anyways so it's gravy.

    Seriously tho RIP, I was a huge fan of him when I was in high school, my AOL screen name was dANk mAn X because I liked dmx and weed lol

    knew this was coming but its still hurts man... I grew up on X's music and I havent stopped listening for almost 20 years straight. And out of all the music I've listened to since, there isn't a single rapper that had that same energy or was able to reach those same heights. He was - and always will be - in a league of his own.

    Thankful to have been able to experience his journey and happy that he’s finally at peace. I think that’s all he ever wanted was to be at peace. He’ll be celebrated forever and he truly is a king of this culture.

    I'm getting the impression it's a "get everyone in to say their goodbyes before we unplug him scenario" and with 15 kids and COVID protocol meaning they can only enter one at a time we could be in for a long wait.

    Drug addiction and mental illness ain't no joke...DMX is an easy punchline in rap because he's undoubtably done some hilarious things, but I always wonder how some of these guys' lives could have been different if public discourse on this stuff was better 20 years ago instead of being looked down upon. Hope he pulls through :emoji_pray:

    For anyone who uses (even if it's only occasional), I beg you to please test your s---. Fent test strips cost about $2 a pop and they could save you or your friends' lives.
