    One random DMX memory I have is from high school. So it had to be 2001 or 2002, after The Great Depression dropped. I was in an elective class called Leadership. Teacher wanted us to pick a song, play it for the class. Of course I picked a Dilated Peoples song on some nerd s---. But this one autistic, Asian kid named Charles (if memory serves), picked “Who We Be” and he actually performed it in front of the class. N words and all, even the hook. Everyone was just flabbergasted and laughing.

    I lost my best friend a few years ago because of fentanyl. . Doctors told us he was a basically a vegetable before passing 2 days later. So this hits a little harder for me. I have no sympathy for d--- dealers who cut with fentanyl.

    We should all be grateful to have been able to witness the greatness while he was alive. A lot of us are too young to remember Pac & Big.

    DMX will never be forgotten. Even 20 years from now. He was and will always be a legend.

    Tonight imma have some drinks and listen to some of his greatest songs to celebrate his life.

    Why is this taking so long ? If he had no oxygen to the brain for 30 mins it means he has been dead for 3 days. Is his next of kin refusing to unplug him?

    How many artists who sold over 74 million records worldwide and been in several movies do you see out in public like this?



    DMX is one of the last real ones in the game. Someone who never put on a fake persona and just says it like it is.

    First time I heard “Get At Me Dog”, I thought it was the dumbest s--- ever with the dog barking. But as the song kept getting airplay and people were gravitating to it, I too began appreciating it to the point that I bought his debut on cassette. He jump started the Survival of the Illest Def Jam campaign. ‘98 was a great summer and a great overall year for NY Hip Hop outside of the Golden Era. X was pivotal in that movement. Hope he pulls through.
