    Rap star DMX is currently fighting for his life in a White Plains, New York area hospital.

    While it has not been confirmed, a source claimed DMX suffered from an apparent overdose, while another told AllHipHop that the rap star had preexisting heart and lung issues that lead to emergency hospitalization sometime last night (April 2nd).

    The same source said the 50-year-old rapper, born Earl Simmons, flat-lined, but thankfully doctors were able to bring him back to life, although he’s reportedly in a vegetative state.

    The Ruff Ryder’s addiction to drugs started when was 14-years-old after unknowingly smoking a cigarette laced with crack cocaine and he has battled substance for much of his adult life.

    Don't know if he's been confirmed dead or is still alive. I hope he'll make it fuuuuuck man

    Usually there trolls and haters who will joke about someone's death but all i've see so far in the comments online is mad love and respect for the man. Not a single negative comment. It shouldn't even come as a surprise because how can you dislike X? The guy is the definition of a real one.

    You could list 20 different artists and i'm sure none of them is as authentic as DMX.

    Man, I was always celebrating X, his music was my #1 to get the any party going, not saying about his serious stuff.. cause that's reserved for some dark, private moments

    I'm just wasted, blasting X, praying my wife won't slap me in the back of my head for being noisy lol

    but yeah, I love DMX, always loved and will always love, he's my top10 rapper OAT

    The last DMX album I listened to was Undisputed (2012) and it was unironically one of the saddest rap albums I've ever listened to. RIP DMX.
