    Guys, there's a HUGE difference betwen Christianity and Islam, even though I don't support either: Just the fact that Islam can NOT be reformed and most Christians around the world prefer to disregard the values of the old testament should tell you enough

    Well to be fair the facts are both religions have changed over time and some people still value the older versions aka persecuting gays and stoning cheating b------s, but most do not.

    I know, I'm just saying just because it's on wikipedia doesn't automatically discredit it. It's not a good enough source on its own to write a research paper, but t's a good place to start looking for info.

    Anyway, I'm not religious and I believe there are a lot of problems within organized religion. If I had the power to dissolve organized religion on that scale I would in a heartbeat. It's undoubtedly a gestation pool for hate and oppression in some cases, but oppressing people simply because they are religious is the same kind of oppression that extremists in these religions preach.

    Why are you calling it extremism?

    For most muslims, sharia law is the norm. It's not an extremist view for them.

    Maybe, just maybe it could be Islam's fault that muslims are being oppressed!

    Which old testament values are you talking about specifically?

    I didn't watch the videos but I've seen videos of ex-muslims denouncing/tearing apart islam, ex-mormons denouncing mormonism, etc.

    yeah but one religion is still doing it, the other one isnt doing it at the same level. not comparable.

    Looking down on it and discouraging it is not the same thing as throwing people off a roof, shooting up a club, beheading them, putting women under sharia law etc.

    I never said it didn't but if islam was prominent in America, and christianity was prominent in the middle east it would obviously be a little different
