the issue is with herd immunity. The 3 main issues are 1) not everyone can get vaccinated due to health reasons 2) vaccines are not 100% & 3) mutations.

People who are immunocompromised rely on others who can get the vaccine to get it so they can safely live their lives. On top of that, vaccines are not 100% effective so the more people refusing to get vaccinated & getting sick also increases the likelihood that vaccinated people get sick as well. Lastly which I think is the most important factor is that the more a virus spreads, the easier/faster it can mutate. Mutations can make vaccines less effective so it’s in our best interest to get as many people vaccinated as possible so we give the virus as little room to breathe as possible.

My grandmother & uncle (both 60+) got their shots almost 3 weeks ago now. They’re due for their 2nd dose soon. They were my main concern this entire pandemic. So relieved they’ll be fully vaccinated.

We've discussed this in staff. In january @Slyk bans all accounts and the only way to be unbanned is to show ur vaccination card.

This is such shameful reporting techniques. It implies that nobody dies from covid when vaccinated.

I have had two vaccines and a booster. Two vaccines, no problem or any after effects from the two jabs. Got covid shortly after first jab, was just tired and groggy, was perfect again after two days. Had the booster a week back and that completely derailed me and I have felt s--- ever since and still a little bit now. Just feel like I don’t want to do anything.

I personally only got the vaccines to travel easier, get in everywhere but seems that is not the case in the UK now as it’s all going backwards again. So from my experience, having the vaccines, getting covid and then having a booster. I wouldn’t do it again, because to me it was all pointless as I was doing it for social reasons and the vaccine f----- me over more than getting covid did.

wheather you’re vaxed or unvaxed, I think everyone should be on same page now with getting on with life and learn to live with it, I think both sides should see eye to eye with that. It’s been two years now, can’t keep going on like this. There’s a vaccine, take it or leave it, personal choice. Just let us live our life’s now like we did before with many other viruses and diseases.

I don't think anyone is saying it's not possible for someone to get adverse or even deadly side effects from this or any vaccine. It absolutely does and has happened with this vaccine and probably all vaccines that have ever existed. However, that doesn't mean that the vaccine is unsafe in general. It's always possible for someone to have an adverse reaction to all kinds of medicine—it's always risk vs. reward. A small percentage of people get suicidal thoughts from anti-depressants, but that doesn't mean anti-depressants are unsafe.

    From the article you posted:

1 in 100,000 is 0.001%. Then the article goes on to say:

So it's a 0.001% chance to develop ITP in the first place. Of that very small number, 33% of them won't develop any symptoms, and only 5% will develop severe bleeding. So all-in-all, that's a 0.00005% chance of having a severe reaction.

    So, to put that into terms without percentages/fractions: 1 in 100,000 = 20 in 2,000,000. 5% of 20 is 1.

TLDR: 1 in 2 million people vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vax will develop severe bleeding from ITP. That's an extremely small number of people, and they're still taking it seriously and investigating it. J&J stopped administering their vax after six people developed blood clots. They take side effects very seriously.

So when I read this, I don't come to the conclusion that the vaccine is unsafe. I come to the conclusion that people who are susceptible to blood clots/ITP/etc. shouldn't get the vaccine, or should talk to a specialist before getting it.
