some great vaccine news here! Basically, this means fully vaccinated people have developed antibodies in the nose & throat & cannot transmit COVID-19 to others. This was originally unclear which is why many medical experts continued to advise fully vaccinated people to mask up to prevent themselves from spreading the disease to others even if they were not infected.

Had my first shot last Wednesday. Felt like s--- the next few days but okay now. Arm still bruised.

Did lol when my government a day after my first shot said that for all citizens under 50 they're now saying don't get AstraZeneca coz it's been linked to bloodclots...

For the first 6 months (March-Sept last year) I lived with a vulnerable person so was super careful and basically isolated myself totally. Since then, I'm no longer living with anyone vulnerable, but I'm still very careful (constant anti-bacterial gel and hand-washing, wear a mask everywhere that's appropriate, limit interactions and keep a distance, not to mention holding a strong hatred for people who are openly not taking similar precautions because they think they are better or more important than the rest of us). Just because I'm tired of it all at this point doesn't mean I don't wear a mask, or I won't give my children vaccines, or I'm an evil guy who is secretly plotting to k--- your grandma.

Okay then maybe my co-workers aren't being overdramatic lol s---. The funniest thing is the ones worst affected by the vaccine are the ones most desperate to try and get me to take it. Every day it's
"have you had your first jab yet??"
"no"
"you know you can get through work? Just ask [the boss] and you can sign up to have it done straight away" yes I know c---- you and everyone else has told me this 3 times this week, in between bitching about how horrible you feel every day and how you weren't expecting it to affect you so greatly. Ask me again tomorrow.

I will tell the story of what happened to my girlfriend, gather round. She got her first dose of the pfizer vax in early January, was mostly fine. Just a sore arm. Second dose about 4 weeks later and later the same day started to get terrible flu-like symptoms. Had excruciating headaches every day for about 3-4 weeks after, and quickly developed a bad chest/breathing issue. Even though this all started the literal day she got the vax, no doctor or specialist she saw would even acknowledge the idea that it was related which is one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever witnessed in the medical industry. She ended up having to go on steroids and anti-biotics for weeks because they had no idea what was wrong with her chest. Also had to see heart and lung specialists. She is mostly better now luckily but it was a pretty horrific ordeal. I realize it’s rare but it was terrifying seeing doctors act confused and pretend nothing could be related to the vax.

I had doubts about the COVID vaccine too, especially considering the timing and the fact its still for emergency use only right now. Ya'll know i'm in the military, but what's interesting is they are legally not allowed to force us to take the vaccine for that reason.

Well here I am. I took every possible vaccine as a kid and I'm not an antivax dude at all, I will vax my kids if I'll have any, but I'm still a little bit sceptical about this one. I already got COVID and I'm still suffering from what they say "long covid" symptoms.

I got my first shot over the weekend. Arm was sore, but no issues so far. Been 4 days since I got it now.

Got the moderna version.
