Aug 9, 2015 society doesn't judge it that much. like, you're still able to do it. nobody is going to hate or discriminate. it's just that people will be like, "oh, no friends." And carry on with their day.
Aug 9, 2015 One of my good friends is really into movies and goes to them all of the time. He has a bunch of friends and we always go out to the bars in Iowa City. He's not socially awkward at all, he just likes going to movies.

Aug 10, 2015 I suppose what your social circle is like that would determine whether its weird or not. Its a subjective topic, but imo the people that would find it weird are probably passive movie watchers and go to the movies to probably watch the mainstream blockbuster hits and that. If you're a movie lover or just really wanna see a movie but cant find or dont want to go with someone else then why not. I see it the same as listening to music in a sense, its pretty 'socially acceptable' to listen to music when you're alone, so why not going to the movies. But also, even if it is weird, who cares, all it means is that the people who do go to movies alone don't really feel the need to conform to social norms, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Aug 11, 2015 i've never done it, but i've gone to concerts alone cuz my friends have s--- taste in music and it wasn't weird or awkward at all...it's one of those things where it's only weird if you're insecure
Aug 11, 2015 I've never done so but I probably would if there was something on I wanted to watch and nobody could/would come with. You're not going there to socialize you're going to watch a movie, so what's the problem? Going alone armed with guns and smoke cannisters tho, I'd be a bit suspicious.
