My only counter to @JFK @Tonshor is that obviously we didn't exist before we were born. I have to imagine afterlife would be slightly different since we've lived and experienced things. I'm christian so answer to OP is yes, I believe in some sort of afterlife as much as I hate thinking about it.

Well think about it this way. We all have been dead before then. So it won't be anything new

How can you take the notion of outer space and it's vast, infinite, ever expanding wonders and not, even for a second believe there's anything after this life? What's really the crazier idea, that we have 100 billion galaxies with things that we could not even begin to conceive as factual, or that you have a soul? To each his own, but it's pretty clear for me.

I think I made this thread months ago but whatever

to be fully honest, I don't know. and the thought bothers me all the time. I want there to be an afterlife.. I mean it sucks to even think that everything you've been through, all your memories, everything you've seen, etc. will just disappear when you die.

I was responding to their posts about the afterlife being the same experience as the one you had before you were born. I just feel it will be different.

That's exactly what the enemy wants you to think. Everything happens for a reason. This is not my way. I am living for Christ. I am wholeheartedly attempting to live for God. No man is perfect. Jesus spoke truth to the ignorant but he didn't let the ignorant influence his spirit. That is our essense. Our soul. Our bodies are just vessels to carry out God's wishes. I will join a religious forum once I feel like people are aware of the truth yet choose to go against it. It's bigger than what you see, CoCo. Be careful who you idolize.

Inb4 you say something I think I know what you're going to say but I don't know because I'm HUMAN and that means that I am not perfect. Only God is all-knowing. Humans are flawed. Our logic is flawed. Everything about us besides what God says is good, is flawed. Your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ died for your sins.

a single entity that has consciousness like we do and is responsible for everything? no

a single entity that has consciousness like we do and is responsible for everything but is no longer around/actively watching etc? a bit more plausible i guess

i dont know to believe to be honest. i dont think theres a higher power re: fate or destiny or anything. but as far as controlling the cosmos and being the reason we exist in the first place? there must be some abstract entity responsible, no? like a thing that set it all off in the first place?

That's not necessary; if something like that existed though, what / who would be its creator? And what / who would be the creator's creator? But this already sounds ridiculous lol
