I suffer from anxiety as well, for like 7 years now. Im on medication for it and it keeps me from having panic attacks and meltdowns. Best thing to do is talk to a psychologist and psychiatrist so yall can have a collaborative regimen to treat it. Anxiety effects people in different ways so its important to be in tune with your body and communicate everything you feel

Yea I got diagnosed with it about 5 years ago when I went through some tough times personally but I never found it crippling or anything. I used to get anxious before interviews or meetings with clients or whatever but I just found powering through it worked. That stopped working though a few years ago when I had another troubling time and ever since its just kinda there. Idk. Its weird. I can have legit anxiety/panic attacks.

The other week my asthma (which rarely affects me so i dont have emergency puffers or anything) kicked in on a ritalin come down and i couldn't take a really deep breath, which lead me to google about breathing exercises which could help open my lungs up, but then the first thing I saw was that it was a symptom of a heart attack which really f----- me up too so then I started reading all of the other symptoms and one by one after reading them I started thinking I was feeling them. Got a ride to a hospital and by the time I got there my left hand was completely locked up and seized 100%, it was like all the muscles contracted at once and crumpled my fingers up into a little ball. I told her I thought i was having a heart attack and she said that while you can get numb in your left side of your body it doesnt usually tense up like that and you can usually still move it, so anyway I got an EKG and they said my heart was fine and it was likely that I just gave myself a severe anxiety attack. s----s not fun. That the worst one I ever had but I had another one recently too where my legs just buckled because I thought something happened to a really good friend of mine, couldn't breathe and my legs just went numb and I almost collapsed. Its hard as f--- to judge. I got ativan but I dont really find it does much for general anxiety day to day, its more of a thing to take when you feel an attack coming on i think. Idk how to deal with it tbh other than just powering through it but that's s--- advice that I'd hate to hear if i was asking for help so sorry.

My anxiety is getting worse as I get older i realize. Lost interest in old hobbies I use to look forward to. I avoid places where I may run into former friends I knew. Leaving my pharmacy with my monthly painkiller prescription my heart races so bad on my way to the car I almost have to keep from running because I feel like someone is going to rob me for my script at any second.

I use to be able to go shopping or out for a few drinks without a gun now I get so many what if scenarios in my head I don't feel like leaving my house without a weapon. I feel like that isn't as normal as I used to think it is. One of my best friends is the same way as me and also always carries a gun with him and figured it was normal.

Few months ago I was thinking about negative things going on in life then my chest started hurting and just got worse and worse until I was on my knees and actually dialed 911 on my phone but just sat and kept trying to tell myself it was only a panic attack before hitting dial and slowly got better. Severe pain it was though Ik I don't want to experience that again.

I was put in hospital because I was almost unable to phisically get up off the floor.

The doctors said go home, you're going to be worse here.

No s---, people were screaming in there, needing real help

So I went home and with no help just decided I have to do something, focus on something to do daily, whatever it is make it something different that you wouldn't usually do but would enjoy, go out, take a walk, get some air, breathe, you're not going to explode.

I found focusing on something helps some, you won't like it but it might never go away, hopefully it does and you just forget about it.

Actually the more you think about it the more you're letting it take over, usually your mind is either too active or not active enough.

Many so called professionals will tell you to try CBT, personally I found that useless since it's just common sense and I figure if you can think for yourself then you probably already know everything any CBT book will tell you.

Why? Because you know how you are, you know how to calm down and only you.

Skip forward some time possibly a few years and out of nowhere after forgetting all about it I wake up one day like I was hit with a hammer (not literally, thats how the jolt felt), I couldn't talk and had to find the closest person to literally just be with me whilst I did something, it could have been anything but I auto-pilot'd to shaving, the whole time being unable to talk, get any words out or stop shaking, feeling I was about to leave this life etc

Eventually it subsided, it was almost other worldly, I've never felt so f----- up, I don't know why that happened or where it came from but I won't forget it.

Forward again some time and the doctor got me to try Sertraline like it's nothing, I hate pills so I took 2-3 days before considering actually trying one, f---ing wrong move.

    I took one, ONE!

It gave me a week I will also never forget, this so called safe medication to help keep you feeling better gave me a trip from h---, I was forced into not being able to move factor than a snail, when I did move it was like being in slow motion literally.

I told the doctor and they said that family of drugs is to stay away from in future, no s---, actually I'm sensitive to medications.

Again I'm left to deal with it myself so I've cut down half the s--- I did in life for a while, slowly started doing things again until I can better cope.

Everyone has their own fair share of life to deal with, you just need to work out what works best for you.

I'm not sure any of that helps you and honestly I didn't read all replies yet but I will.

    Try and stay positive.

    Edit

I had the same tests as theg, no findings, thats when they said go home.

    Ecg's, Ekg's, some other stuff I don't remember.

    Edit

Sounds stupid but try to do what makes you happy, watch movies, play games, make music, hit the gym, usually that works for me and many others to help ease things.

    Edit

If you're going to Google symptoms be careful and tell yourself if you're going to look through search results then not to read straight into the serious things that come up, it's highly unlikely those are whats causing your condition.

Just remember you're ok, nothing is happening to you aside that your mind is racing, it's not going to last and will be over soon.

It's funny that actually if you were thrown into a situation which you needed to deal with, you probably wouldn't feel like you do, yet when you're sitting still it just comes on which should tell you it's not as serious as it feels.
