Mar 19, 2018 Difference being it's not unpopular to go by the metric I am, with the redman example. Yet bringing up rhymes per minute or vocabulary like squid did is basically irrelevant because such a minority would ever actually put the whole stake of how good a rapper is into those categories.

That's the conundrum I have when questioning if Kanye could/should be labeled a top 10 rapper and why I made this thread to flesh out ideas and opinions
Mar 19, 2018 nah pretty sure he just makes Youtube videos (thank god) idk I've never really looked into him other than when people I knew from high school share his videos on facebook (I should really delete them tbh) and they auto-play. But as far as rhyming metrics go I feel like he says more words in a faster way than Kanye. Kanye def has him beat in every other category but idk if sales/billboard/awards fall into the "rapper" criteria tbh I have no f---ing idea what I'm doing in this thread lmao
Mar 19, 2018 I honestly don't really understand what you're trying to argue with redman. That he's better at rapping than Kanye? Because that's still just taking into account one aspect of making rap music and what squid was saying is just a more extreme version of what you're saying.
Mar 19, 2018 he's the outlier, that's all that needs to be said... Plus lyrically he does have prowess when he wants to but sometimes he sacrifices it for the music or timing or whatever idk.
Mar 19, 2018 Squids analysis stretches it to extremes where it basicaly becomes a joke. Aesop's gigantic vocabulary doesn't make him a good rapper. Tech N9ne rhyming meaningless words 800 times a minute doesn't make him a good rapper. It's disingenuous and taking my real angle on things in regards to rapping ability and confusing it.
