Oct 14, 2016 Eminem used to be a great lyricist though, I don't know why he decided to rhyme 20 words every bar
Oct 14, 2016 depends what type of artist you're trying to be, if i listen to eminem or kendrick i'm gonna be looking into their lyrics, but if i'm just chilling to yachty or uzi etc idgaf
Oct 14, 2016 kendrick really not a top tier lyricist either most of his lyrics are really straight forward and when tries to be extremely lyrical is comes off cringy see that part remix
Oct 14, 2016 @Hank Moody His storytelling is top-notch, he can be emotional, conceptual, poetic and use wordplay, how is he not a good lyricist?
Oct 14, 2016 watch yourself m8, I called Kendrick cringey and cheesy before and had Kenny stans attacking me for like an hour afterwords.
Oct 14, 2016 Of course it matters and it always has, but having good production and catchy, versatile music is just as essential to being a good artist. Often times you'll have some lyrical miracle guy brag about "I'm better than all these wack mainstream rappers", when their music is devoid of any substance and is complete unoriginal trash, it's just them rhyming.
Oct 14, 2016 aesop rock is not a lyricist. He just fills his bars with words he finds in the dictionary
