Are you kidding me? I'm out with family rn but give me a while and I can cite everything from the respected economists backing the undocumented working class to Pell Grants being denied to students who work long hours. Stay schleep I ain't worried.

Bro, you're arguing that the undocumented class is helping large corporations due to cheap labor and arguing for a higher minimum wage in the same breathe. Do you not see the irony there?

Tell me about pell grants not being given out to people who work too much and I will list other grants and scholarship opportunities with low minimum requirements that do. Don't waste your time there. Opportunities are abound and I would venture to say that poor people have access to them, since that is who they are targeted for after all. I'm not against helping people, I'm against helping people who refuse to help themselves.

I'm not flexing any perceived knowledge, I'm just welcoming you to the real world.

Homeboy doesn't realize the irony in this post. Anyways the argument is that underhanded companies are going to cut the minimum wage either way so by providing domestic slave-wage work undocumented workers are keeping business in america and leaving corporate positions here instead of outsourcing those as well. The minimum wage laws would be circumvented either way so it's honestly a seperate argument from the core wage argument which in itself is still valid. You're being too self sure to acknowledge that poor people are inherently at a disadvantage no one's saying it's impossible to bounce back and get new money but the fact stands that the nations foremost grant that gets advertised to seniors in high school is the Pell Grant which enforces ridiculous limitations. Yes there are ways that do aid you but for the most part they're just axing minor increments or splitting into smaller payments. As it stands a student living off of minimum wage in some areas won't even be able to afford electricity much less 1200 in classes and an additional 400 in books on top of online homework subscriptions you have to pay.

A higher minimum wage will probably stop more illegal immigrants than Trump's wall tbh

Yeah I don't believe Trump is the radical racial supremacist the hysterical left desperately makes him out to be but this is a terrible thread. Taking pictures with a famous black person doesn't not make you a racist.

I never said poor people weren't at a disadvantage (I'm assuming compared to people with money?), however, you were sure to say that the system prevents ANY poor people from improving their socioeconomic class. You put that in writing. You also wrote that poor people are denied from getting into college, which is flat out wrong.

If you believe the minimum wage should be higher, that's fine. It's your opinion and this is a free country. There are a lot of people here with very liberal views and although I don't agree with them I respect their opinion as their own. I only call out people when their reasoning is f----- up or they believe something ridiculously untrue.

You got me f----- up. I wasn't saying no poor people can succeed I was making a point of specifically black people being forced into poverty and then seperating my second statement by saying they put down ANY poor people not just blacks.
There's a cost barrier that even with grants cannot be broken by a significant portion of Americans under the poverty line.
Minimum wage is made to match cost of living, which it hasn't done since the 80's. Our government is failing to regulate wages in a meaningful way for the majority of its citizens and we've turned to demonizing the only working class that's keeping many big businesses here: undocumented workers.

How are blacks forced into poverty? The never ending cycle of having so many kids of of wedlock and the break down in values has to end. People in this country seem to have this victim mentality these days. No one owes you s--- in this world and its your job to make a better life for yourself and your loved ones

I'm speaking on how after slavery ended black people got lumped into ghettoes and left to rot until after the Reagan administration. Chill with the "everyone is a victim because I saw one person on the Internet complain" mentality pp.

Your last sentence is absurd. Has nothing to do with the Internet. It's a way of life in this country. People feel like they are owed something and don't want to work for it. Have this mentality that they have been done wrong. Your a 19 year old kid who knows nothing about how the real world works. That's because it's your lack of real life experiences at your age. Not dissing you by saying that bruh

    Inaccurate generalization.
And you're a grown a--- man who hasn't spoken a single sentence without spitting biased generalizations with no backing so do me a favor you tell me how the world works and I'll tell you how forming rational thoughts work.

Considering my job is dealing with welfare recipients I have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Most of them are lazy self entitled freeloaders who feel like they are owed something. Most have found out how to scheme the system and live off the government. There is even a welfare rights organization in Detroit, like you should have entitlement living off the working tax payers

you're acting like all welfare recipients are freeloaders who're just scheming the system to (barely) get by, that's bs and obviously a generalization. secondly, you're also trying to apply that bs generalization to an entire generations worth of people, not just those on welfare, which is even more absurd.

literally f--- off already with your stupid s--- m8. you're talking straight out of your a---

I didn't say everyone but the majority do. I deal with these people all day, every day. I see the s--- first hand. If you have a problem with what I am saying then oh well. I am certainly fine with people who need and deserve it. The American people should not have there tax money going to lazy adults

Have you ever been to a welfare office or shopped at a grocery store where most people use EBT?
