I remember reading back in like 2016 that a team of people were hired to help come up with ideas to continue dragon ball super after this arc. And in the manga they haven’t even started the tournament. I think this is simply a break to let the manga catch up and to work on the movie. However when it returns it might not be called super. Just like dragon ball turned into Z I think super will turn into something else. Dragon ball universe?

Jan 19, 2018 I’m glad they are taking a break. They could throw episodes out while they work on a movie and the quality would be s---. Even when the manga is dope I don’t think dragon ball is going anywhere. I can see spin offs and all sorts of possible s--- at this point.

Jan 20, 2018 If 14 & 15 are battle of gods and resurrection of Frieza then watch them in that order. The first part of Super is just the two movies stretched out in episodes. I do believe the series starts at epidose 35 once you watch the movies. I could be wrong though.
