Drake Drake Could Sell 500k in 3 Days

    We didn’t see this coming. Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late will debut at #1 on the HITS Album and SPS charts next week, spoiling what looked less than 24 hours ago like a slam dunk for the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack—but the marketshare goes to the same place, so Republic can’t complain. What’s more, the surprise mixtape could see first-weekend sales of 500k. Strangely, as of 8am PT, the album has yet to appear on the iTunes chart. But there’s a precedent: It took Beyoncé’s 2013 surprise release several hours before landing at #1.

    Our numbers gnomes are trying to determine whether If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late will be the best-selling or highest-debuting mixtape ever. For the record, Drake's first charting recording a re-release of a mixtape six years ago. Stay tuned for further updates.

    Cole was never and probably will never be on the same mainstream level as Drake. The numbers Cole did were still ridiculous.

    i've got a feeling that this actually is Views From The 6, but it was rebranded & restructured to get him out of his contract...we might still get an offical follow-up, but looking at the tracks on this "mixtape", i think there was a lot of borrowing from what was supposed to be on the album due to politics.

    Why are you guys act like dropping music out of nowhere with no heads up wouldn't increase your numbers??..

    Like, generating buzz and making all news THAT day, be about your album or whatever your selling, is obviously going to increase the sales off "oh s--- wtf" hype alone.

    I'm guessing no one took marketing classes or anything of the sort. If Apple dropped the iPhone 8 tomorrow out of the blue, it would sell more than any electronic ever.


    If anything this is proof that Kendrick is going to hit 1mil without question and possibly hit like 1.2-1.3
