    Lol why are you fixated on the chart? The chart literally tells nothing here. You’re comparing a feature on a highly promoted album to a standalone diss track that wasn’t even on streaming services for the first week of its existence. It’s not meant to be catchy for radio play.

    Drake’s a top notch troll, but the key takeaway is that he’s specifically (and repeatedly) asking Kendrick to respond on wax.

    All signs point to the fact that Drake has something absolutely savage up his sleeve.

    Meek Mill released a very good Drake diss 4 months after Back to Back and I bet most people reading this, and most people who have heard Back to Back don’t even know it exists

    Expected response time has dwindled even more drastically in the 8 years since, if Kendrick waits longer than like a month there is absolutely nothing that will be able to sway the court of public opinion back in his favor

    We’re gonna have to revisit this narrative at some point lol. Pusha-T got the well earned W but the hip-hop community really exaggerates the discrepancy between Duppy & SoA.

    That’s the thing about these hip-hop beefs, & who is ultimately crowned winner. It’s not entirely about the music, narratives play a huge role. E.g.: Jay-Z vs Nas.

    He could come with a response in a month & if the diss is good, it’s good. The time frame doesn’t matter. Drake obviously wants people to think it matters because he’s trying to bait Kendrick/apply public pressure.

    Exactly—these are expectations that Drake has largely imposed but it’s not the bar lol. I think Budden said it best on his podcast: the ability to respond quick is considered a skill but not the end all be all. Drake himself took a couple weeks after the Like That verse too.
