kanye's always synthesized his influences into something new, or at least something his own. kanye wouldn't have made 808s without t-pain, or Yeezus without drill and chicago house (not death grips, that's been widely debunked). but 808s doesn't sound like t-pain, etc.Meero, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and gorealsteady like this. -

This is a fact.
It's becoming quite clear that some rap fans are starting to overlook him so they can say their favorite artists are innovative, but T-Pain has the biggest influence out of all of them, even Kanye.
Without T-Pain, there would be no 808s, no Wayne using auto-tune. He dominated every hot hook between 2006-2011 and he became a template for what other auto-tuned oriented rappers wanted to sound like.Enigma, gorealsteady and Besky like this. -

The main influence Kanye has had on Drake is obviously sonically and that is pretty clear on his early work (SFG and TML). But ever since Take Care, the Kanye influence has been dwindling. On top of that, Kanye has had only a little influence on Drake the rapper, maybe a little as a singer.
But when you use Kanye as the bar, who hasn't he influenced because its a very shortlist?lil uzi vert stan, aquaberryares and Oldboy like this. -

@Mike Tyson i conceded btw, not sure if you missed that lol. Not gonna call drake a "biter" unless its blatant. Calling his music "safe" is something ive done for years now. How he influenced an entire scene in Toronto is beyond the scope of my argument. I personally dont know or care about what goes into that kind of movement and wont pretend like I do. But if Im getting this correctly, you're saying his sound is so original that it sparked the entire Toronto scene/wave? I see it as Drake coming up off reworking his influences, wayne and kanye, and being immensely marketable. and that sparked a whole generation of people trying to emulate him. but like i said, i dont really know
dont think i ever called you r-----ed in this thread btw lmaoNav Bhatia, Enigma and Mike Tyson like this. -
