that bold sentence is all you need to know about how Kanye looks at Drake..

Drake is nowhere near the artist Ye is and he doesn't have a doubt in his mind about it.. Drizzy's just taking up the spotlight that Ye ideally wishes to have for his own music

@Mike Tyson i conceded btw, not sure if you missed that lol. Not gonna call drake a "biter" unless its blatant. Calling his music "safe" is something ive done for years now. How he influenced an entire scene in Toronto is beyond the scope of my argument. I personally dont know or care about what goes into that kind of movement and wont pretend like I do. But if Im getting this correctly, you're saying his sound is so original that it sparked the entire Toronto scene/wave? I see it as Drake coming up off reworking his influences, wayne and kanye, and being immensely marketable. and that sparked a whole generation of people trying to emulate him. but like i said, i dont really know

dont think i ever called you r-----ed in this thread btw lmao

I'm not a fan but I don't hate him either, the only annoying thing for me is your double standard.

Like come on, if drake is biting kanye, then surely we can all agree that thug is biting wayne.

who isn't a rework of their influences? who didn't have someone to inspire and shape them along the way?

does drake sound like wayne or kanye in his music? nope.
does kendrick sound like wayne in his music? nope
does schoolboy sound like 50 in his music? nope
does eminem sound like Run DMC? nope

does travis scott sound like WTT and yeezus kanye west? yes, absolutely yes.

my issue is that we're grouping drake with the travis scotts of rap.

But what are the specific examples of him biting people though? I still don't understand it as a general term to describe his whole career?

There has been one specific instance with Hotline Bling and even that was overblown a little bit. Where's the proof?

Oh this again...isn't biting/sampling a heavy part of hip-hop? I see more people biting Drake if anything, my biggest criticism is he's been on cruise mode for awhile meanwhile other contemporaries have been making much better music and likely more innovative material in recent memory.

no one did, i just feel like i'm missing the point

i am literally trying as hard as i can, but i fail to see how drake is comparable to travis scott and game like we're suggesting here.

    i feel r-----ed b.

People say Logic is biting Drake/Kendrick/Cole... ain't nobody saying he's biting Kanye/wayne/andre 3000... Do you know why? because Drake/Kendrick/Cole are influenced by Kanye/wayne/andre 3000, they don't bite them. :whylie:
