Lol this guy must not listen to much hip hop outside of what's on radio if he's putting down black rappers for not having soul and spirit into their craft & being repetitive. This guys opinion holds little weight because of it.

MJ is the KOP cause he was a brilliant innovator of like, three or four different mediums in the genre. Not album sales.

    What has Eminem ever innovated?

"There’s not sort of this very programmatic, predictable, continual music that comes from him. Where he’s always talking about the same thing…And so, what I see with a lot of artists who’ve become corporatized is just sort of the same old stuff. And it gets old after a while."
^lol'd. That's all that's been coming from Em for years and years.

idiotic to say eminem is not a product of white privilege. he's even stated so himself

him being white helped made him more accessible, as well as hip hop in most of the suburban areas of the country

How so? Dre helped, yes, but to say his career is down to white privilege alone? Beasties Boys were popular before him but did they have white privilege?

Yes, he said it himself on White America, but why aren't other white rappers as big as him if Em solely has white privilege as a part of his career?

This has been an age old argument that has people on both sides. Some people bring his success as being white some don't.

If white privilege existed a lot more white rappers would be where Eminem has been and is right now.

Do you know what 'innovation' means?

What he did with rhymes was nothing new. He may have done it better than many at the time, but that's not the same as being an innovator.

There is no doubt being white helped Eminem sell more records. Same thing happened with Vanilla Ice & Macklemore.
