Both evince little to no self-awareness and appear to be operating almost purely on instinct, having arrived at their prepackaged worldviews casually and passively, predetermined by their particular combination of personality traits. Both personality types (the conservative type and the progressive type) are not only shallow but insufferably tedious and bland, and have more in common than they seem to realize. Their divergence on a narrow range of pet political issues is ultimately petty and has the character of a sibling rivalry.
