Above the Law immediately came to mind for this.
Royce delivers so many lines so aggressively like it is supposed to sound hard or intimidating but its just like... lol ?? ?
"What yall messin with is a n----- thatll leave you FUBAR!!!!!! f----- UP beyond all recognition, yall are rockstars I'm the opposite, I could just throw a rock and hit a star, for the FOCK OF IT"

Yeah Eminem is yelling the whole time but his lines have more bite to them, somehow the energy made more sense.

Em fans overrate the s--- out of Royce.

Em definitely had some terrible moments on HTS, in terms of lines... as far as the whole Recovery/HTS writing period goes. But almost none of Royce's punches connect lol, they may not be as absurdly bad as some of Em's but it's like he's just Em-lite but NOTHING connects. At times he can keep up rhyming or flow wise but he says s--- with no impact. Em is way better on HTS.

"Eminem can't even look at beer" the way he said was f---ing hilarious. No way Eminem is a decade sober and still can't be around alcohol. If so, that is a miserable way to go through life to still be that paranoid and insecure that someone else drinking near you could still trigger you. Unheard of.

exactly, relapse was the last real eminem album,had an intro, skits, real songs structure,real flows, real hip hop beats ,real hooks/hip hop hooks etc.....

add that to the fact that dre started to make banks with beats and em was lost, he had already lost bass bros and now lost dr dre to his beats headphones , he decided to turn to royce da 5 9, biggest mistake of his career.

Lol Relapse didn't flop. It sold 608,000 copies in its first week. That isn't a flop. That is quite a great number considering how easy people can leak music nowadays.

Relapse released in May of 2009, Recovery released June of 2010.

It's not hypocritical mate. As most of us are wanting a great ALBUM and that's something most people agree he hasn't made since 2002.

That doesn't mean you can't enjoy some of his tracks, his rapping, be surprised... I've loved a million tracks since 2009, and was consistently surprised each era apart from Revival. But still disappointed and waiting for a great album. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Eminem is still brilliant. I'm sorry you can't enjoy his recent material, but I'm still consistently getting impressed after all these years. Eminem is incredible.

I don't think so.

I think everything on Revival was made for it. You can tell by the writing that the song isn't from 2010/11. He's just imitating the sound, just like with Framed / Relapse. He can do whatever sound he wants, just a shame he chose to do them all, on 1 album. And ones we've heard before.

He seems to have some fkn allergy to RAP hooks now.

He always has to sing in some way or since he can't sing properly... that's why he does s--- like the Framed hook.

The last time he did a rap hook I can remember was Rap God, and I bet that whisper delivery came about with him not being confident in it just being a spoken rap hook, and I bet that's one reason he phones in so many hooks because he thinks they all need to be sung, so he's phoning in singers to do the job all the time...

But, some of his best hooks ever are RAPPP hooks. And he took the 'rap hook' to another level with s--- like The Way I Am, Lose Yourself, Without Me... These are classic f---ing hooks. And they don't get annoying because he's not doing some stupid strained noise or using some generic pop star s---. He will never recapture or better the standard of his early day music without creative rap hooks like he used to do, it's a huge part of what made his songs his, unique and not corny.
