Apr 2, 2018 Not really. Or, not for me anyway. I'm a huge Relapse fan, but I never listen to Framed and if I ever do rarely listen to a handful of tracks from Revival... it's Believe, Chloraseptic, Untouchable and Arose... Rarely Framed. I find the s--- annoying and fake in some way. It might be Relapse but maybe it's because I can tell it's contrived. It's just weird he's imitating a style to please a subset of fans / a time he disregarded... it's just, fkn odd. I dunno, just like the rest of the music from the era, it didn't have a spark or catch my ear. It's just like 'MEH, whatever'.
Apr 2, 2018 He seems to have some fkn allergy to RAP hooks now. He always has to sing in some way or since he can't sing properly... that's why he does s--- like the Framed hook. The last time he did a rap hook I can remember was Rap God, and I bet that whisper delivery came about with him not being confident in it just being a spoken rap hook, and I bet that's one reason he phones in so many hooks because he thinks they all need to be sung, so he's phoning in singers to do the job all the time... But, some of his best hooks ever are RAPPP hooks. And he took the 'rap hook' to another level with s--- like The Way I Am, Lose Yourself, Without Me... These are classic f---ing hooks. And they don't get annoying because he's not doing some stupid strained noise or using some generic pop star s---. He will never recapture or better the standard of his early day music without creative rap hooks like he used to do, it's a huge part of what made his songs his, unique and not corny.
Apr 2, 2018 I am a HUGE Relapse fan... Relapse is my favorite album (yes, you all will hate I said that). I long for Relapse 2 and would love another Relapse-esque album...Just don’t like the hook on Framed, but the rest is awesome!
