Sep 16, 2015 That thought always comes to my mind whenever I listen to that album(this time thanks to @Creation and his "No Bizzare version"). How great could have it been if Eminem focused on his solo album rather than D12 album. It was his prime(for me) so think about all that great verses we could have. Also I think mood of his 3rd album would be much different than TES and we would eventually get TES as his fourth album. What are your thoughts on this topic? Also would you rather want TES or his whole solo album in the mood of Devil's Night(i know TES is GREAT, but I'm curious)?
Sep 16, 2015 It would have been pretty cool to get a Solo version of Devil's Night. It could have worked too, the beats, the way the album was produced, everything would have just worked and it would have been a great solo album. D12 World on the other hand, that's a different story...
Sep 16, 2015 For me Devil's Night feels like MMLP on steroids, whole mood of it. Em got few classic verses there. I would definately be pleased with solo album with sound like that, but I'm not sure I would pick that over TES.
Sep 16, 2015 It's a masterpiece as is. I know Eminem was at his peak on it but all the D12 members verses on it were great too. Even Bizarre's dark shock-rap worked perfectly on this album. Can't say the same about D12 World. Devil's Night is a 10/10 album as is imo. I admit though that we should've gotten one more prime Eminem solo album at some point. Either in 2001 or 03.
Sep 17, 2015 Exactly. It would've watered down the quality. Maybe the reason the verses were so good was because he only had to come up with one verse per song instead of three.
Sep 17, 2015 Eminem's involvement on Devil's Night is undeniably great (see Fight Music, Revelation, Words Are Weapons), and in my opinion, part of his prime was wasted on that album. His verses ranged from great to classic, and I wish he used his time more wisely and put out a solo album instead of this D12 album. To answer your question about what I'd rather have: TES or a solo Devil's Night era album, I can't see myself taking out Eminem's best album in his discography (TES) based on the potential of another album in a different era. (Although these two albums were released a year apart, they definitely sound different.)
Sep 17, 2015 Imagine if it were his own solo album. SSLP MMLP Devils Night TES A godly four album combo
