    No. If everyone before you is rhyming over whatever beat the DJ throws on, when it's your turn you cannot ask to cut the beat, or even worse, ask to play a specific beat.

    Sure for something televised, if Em wants a specific beat this will all be worked out behind the scenes prior to the cypher. Or s--- like Tim Westwood when you're the main person in the cypher or whatever, if it's your cypher these rules don't apply. But when it's a collective of rappers just cyphering, you can't just hijack the cypher once it starts. Well you can but you lose respect immediately.

    This general rule dates back 30 years lol. Based on context and specific scenarios this rule can be broken. But generally speaking, you lose respect when you do this. As a legit emcee, you need to have rhymes ready for whatever beat is thrown at you.

    The optimistic side of me believes an album will be announced and the first single will be released tonight.

    The realistic side of me believes we'll get the freestyle, and at the end of it he'll subtly reveal some details about the album through a bar, like the album title.
