Feb 20, 2016 well i think if we do top 5 of all time in 5 years..Kanye will easily belong there, and there is good chance for Kendrick...i think Jay and Eminem wont belong there anymore
Feb 20, 2016 Ok I can get that ideology. Thread comes off as if you're treating Em's legacy different But yeah, that's the case with anything though not just musicians-- say you have a top 5 basketball players all time due to their accomplishments and stats, and they all retired... you got some up and coming players raking in stats and awards, you could see the top 5 dropping to future stars anyone who isn't consistently adding to their top 5 repertoire is in danger of dropping out of it. and no one can rap/play forever. We may be talking 10 years from now after Kenny dropped 3 or 4 more classics like 'Yeah Pac and Big where good, but that was before the world was introduced to the King of all Rap K.dot' you see who knows
Feb 20, 2016 he'll always be remembered as just another pop star, for his 99-05 stint and the 10-13 era. as far as rap goes, he's definitely in the top 50 for me, but dropping steadily.
Feb 20, 2016 You talking the Encore drop off? Nah, that's probably worst all time drop tbh he does have that against him
Feb 20, 2016 Different category tho...he went from making his safe, pop, listenable music in Recovery era to making some embarassing Encore-level joke features still bad tho
Feb 20, 2016 This mindset is too temporary. Eminem's established himself as a living music legend whether you agree with it or not. It will take extraordinarily special rappers to meet his level who have been hit makers and constantly impacting pop culture for well over a decade, way too early to throw thug kevin gates or even kendrick in that conversation.
Feb 20, 2016 This is so funny considering how hard you f---ing stanned over MMLP2 but I mean you did change your opinion like a week later so I don't know which is worse
Feb 20, 2016 No because rappers like Kanye West, Kevin Gates, Young Thug etc. will never be highly regarded by a majority of the hip-hop community. May be not so much Kanye but the other two for sure.
