Jan 29, 2017 What I know trap So not that excited. He did have some unique, good beats tho so if he steps up again this could be good
Jan 29, 2017 songs that I know of with Metro production are where ya at (future and drake), Jumpman, Low Life (Weeknd), Six Feet Under (Weeknd) and Father Stretch My Hands Pt1 (Kanye). He does a lot for Future so @Soldier would probably be a better person to answer this question.
Jan 29, 2017 yeah where did that even come from? I think it stemmed from Twitter and I just rolled with it cuz we don't really have any other info regardless of who's producing it, I'm excited. as long as it's not Khalil
Jan 29, 2017 don't like "Bounce Back" ? oh well I guess. might not even be Metro anyway. None of the other songs that dropped from the album were Metro as far as I know. I'd love a beat like "No More Interviews" honestly
Jan 29, 2017 Nah, I just listened to it and Where Ya At and I was bored as s--- by the production i honestly can't put this any nicer way at this point, but after several years of hearing it in mainstream hip hop.. i honestly f---ing hate trap production at large and think it's straight garbage like, it's so easy to produce and unoriginal as f---. it'd take me about 30 minutes tops to bust out s--- like that. it's so repetitive and simple and almost all of it uses the same/similar sounding drum kits that've been floating around forever now and used by everyone already and the chords/notes/drum arrangements/patterns etc. are so insanely minimal and similar... ugh. it all just comes off so bland and generic at this point, and the most frustrating part is that seems to be all anybody really wants to hear/rap over anymore, and it goes hand in hand with the new style of rapping that everyone from Migos to Future to Yachty has been rolling with.. which i also can't stand i'll give it a chance but honestly, between him and Eminem, I doubt I'm going to enjoy this at all.
Jan 29, 2017 Agreed, it's like the most common example of Metro Boomin' production. Jumpman is lightyears ahead of Where Ya At... The creativity shown such as having a hawk screech throughout the song is impressive; plus his bass is loud and substantial. I want to figure out how he does that. P.S. You know you can create your own drum kits using synthesizers now to get a different sound rather than using presets. That's what I've been doing for quite sometime now.
Jan 29, 2017 listened to it just now, and while i like it more, i think it's pretty much the same issue i'm having with the rest of this style i layer/mix a s--- load of different drum samples from completely unrelated kits anymore, add to that a ton of reverb, eqing, panning, delay, big complicated patterns, other effects etc.
Jan 29, 2017 genius grabs any rumor on the net and posts it as "song info". Remember the Election Day lyric ??
Jan 29, 2017 Still don't know how we 5 days until release and still no official production for the whole tracklist.
