This was a great interview. Not the same run of the mill questions he’s been answering for the past 7 years. Very entertaining.
Dec 18, 2017 As an artist that has been around for almost 20 years, I can see how trying to please all fans would be a difficult undertaking. And it has to be an awkward spot in someone’s career too. Honestly though at some point Eminem has to say to himself “I can’t please everybody, this is the type of music I like to to make” and go from there. Someone on here said revival was Eminem throwing a bunch of s--- against the wall and seeing what sticks. Based on the interview that’s probably accurate. He might be trying to gauge what type of his music more of his fans like and go in that direction going forward. It’s pretty apperant he loves writing songs about murdering people and being a serial killer lol. He’s pretty passionate about that. Put out relapse 2 then. That album would be very well crafted.

Dec 18, 2017 Lol I know it’s a universal truth you can’t please everybody. But for someone like Eminem, who’s fanbase used to have one consistent outlook on his discography, is now fractured into smaller sects, it must be hard to try and please every sect of your fan base and fail. Honestly that’s why he should put out more music. Make EP’s or mixtapes and put them on Apple Music and Spotify. Have each ep have a consistent sound. So for people that like the rick Rubin beats and sounds they have that ep to enjoy, one for fans of the relapse sounds etc. then for his actual albums he can create one cohesive body of work, instead of mixing all of his different sounds on an album like he did with revival.

Dec 18, 2017 It’s easy to please everyone when you’re first starting out because you’re just building a fan base. But once you get to the point where you’re trying to maintain your fan base it becomes increasingly more difficult to please them because everyone has their own idea of what someone’s albums should like. You can’t make something too similar and you can’t make something too different. It is very hard to please everyone once you’re so many years into your career.

Dec 18, 2017 I’m a huge Pink Floyd fan. I think their best album is Animals which is a pretty rare opinion. Plenty of fans don’t care for it and I completely get it and accept their opinion. I know it’s not an album for everyone. Wish everyone could come to an agreement on Eminem and just accept that not every album is going to please every fan.
