Dec 19, 2020 Theres too many "rappers" and albums in the game now to keep up with. Thats the problem imo, like how many rap albums have released this year alone in 2020 compared to lets say 2012. I really do feel like the streaming era and sales should be irrelevant. No wonder numbers are getting lower and lower. We are just too saturated with new music. There is no time to digest new music because by the next week there are already 3-4 new projects to listen to.
Dec 19, 2020 are you talking about surprise releases? A lot of big artists do, and have been doing this before him. The reason he does this is because the last album he released singles prior for was Revival and he was ripped to shreds. I mean the album wound up being s--- anyway but people were quick to s--- on him just knowing he was going to release another album. Surprise releases he doesn't have to deal with that s--- and he's obviously big enough where he doesn't need promo prior. There's no need for him to ever do a "classic" album roll out ever again
