Kam dropped at the right time after a terrible album where he was taking s--- and in the news for the whole year. It was his redemption and when you take all the factors at play in that social climate at the time it made sense. Add to that he rapped his a--- off on it and it was the first ever album with trendy beats + the first ever surprise drop. Can he match something like this again? Unlikely - it will be like beating a dead horse. More importantly the idea that he has gone away from his style on m2bmb is rediculous. He raps his a--- off in it over trendy beats. The sales will add up over time it's just not the best timing atm. What he needs to do is get needs to focus on making songs that can appeal to his fanbase but also can draw new fans that can get into it. He does this with trendy beats, sick flow, bars that are just good versus always trying to get a shock reaction. He doesn't need the gimmicks he is one of the best ever. I think if he tried to put out another album from the past he would fail, just like he failed with revival when he tried to put out the woke album.
Dec 26, 2020 This is the point, that his old tracks are listened to by more people than his new tracks. Nobody wants another Kamikaze. The fans just want a classic promo. Why are contemporary artists still doing classic promos and Eminem no longer? Why is Eminem releasing as 1 single not a hit, but rather a mediocre song that could be the last single from the album? These numbers are not growing as well as those of his old albums.
Dec 26, 2020 On his own fan forum (this forum) the songs his own fans want to vote out first are usually the ones that are the most like his older s--- - so that right there tells you a lot. I'm surprised by the marketing too - sounds like em may need to make some changes with his marketing staff but forget I said that.
Dec 26, 2020 I agree the voice is weird and that drags the album down for me. Lets take Higher. 10/10 production 10/10 hook but the rapping voice ehh drags it down for me. He better mixed it up on side A with songs like Those Kind Of Nights, Premonition, In Too Deep, Marsh, Stepdad & I Will (with the last 2 he did it best) On Kami he also mixed it up well. I feared it would happen since that Cudi track came out. Here again I like Em's part when its about the production but that weird deep voice isn't for me. I only like it on Killer.

Dec 26, 2020 I agree that 5-8 bars of his 3rd vers before the beat from s1 comes in feels like from Relapse 1 or 2 it feels differently sonically. I'm sure its taken from 10 years ago.

Em literally put out an amazing album....2 albums in 1 year and more people are talking about sales than the actual music itself lol.
