Dec 31, 2020 I can understand that but to this day they still send out physical CDs to radio stations to promote singles and back in the day they would put the instrumentals on those CDs too so it wasn't just for vinyl and for DJs to play on their turntables. They did a physical release recently for the single with B.O.B and Eminem and they put the clean and dirty versions of the song on there. I understand that when people buy a song now they just get the song and nothing else, there is no extras but when comes to sending promos out to radio stations or when they are trying to make money like with that single release which was on CD, Vinyl and cassette tape...........if they can put the clean and dirty versions on there, is putting the instrumental on there too really that big a deal for them? Can they not just add it to be nice and give the fans something extra, even if no DJ uses it for a remix or the fan doesn't really play it. My issue is record labels did it for 30 years and they could easily have just sent those 12" vinyl promos and CD promos out with nothing more than the clean version on it but they didn't. And they're in a position where they could do it just to be nice and it doesn't need to be a big thing to make money. I just find it curious that it's not just an Eminem thing, it really has been an industry thing so that makes me think maybe it's more of a label thing rather than an artist thing and maybe they just don't care or assume that they're already out there. I would love to ask some of the producers who have sent beats to Eminem if those conversations were ever had. Do they even have a copy of the instrumental after Eminem adds his touch to it? Are they asked not to release them or is it just a conversation that's never came up. I would have thought many hip hop producers would love their beats to be released. They would be honoured for someone to remix their stuff....or maybe that's an old school thing, maybe the big hip hop producers prior to 2010 didn't mind but this new skool is different.
Dec 31, 2020 youtube? the dj gatekeeping is gone and anyone being able to access and actually use instrumentals might be the factor? just a quick guess
Dec 31, 2020 “If it rhymes, say it” describing the writing mentality during Relapse. See even Eminem knows he was talking gibberish just because it rhymed on that project.
Dec 31, 2020 can't be a coincidence after the special they played one song, then a Dave east shoutout to snoop and then played what's my name part 2
Dec 31, 2020 Interview wasn't too good but I feel like the guy interviewing him just s----d at his job and didn't really ask anything worth asking aside from Zeus
Dec 31, 2020 See this is what I’ve been saying to the ppl that kept making it about a d--- top 10. When it first happened I was like I didn’t like the tone, and what he said towards the end. Now hearing it come out of Eminem mouth I felt his pain because he definitely felt hurt by that.
Dec 31, 2020 These labels would press thousands of copies. Literally thousands of vinyl records and CDs and give them out freely so with Eminem very little of that stuff is hard to get. I know with many other artists there are lots of very hard to find releases and white labels with tracks that are nowhere online. The DJs did well out of it for years. I had to pay money for them. I had to go on Ebay and buy from either DJs that didn't want them or people who had access to them, I had to pay money for something they got for free and that to me says a DJ is more important than a fan.So because the DJ is playing your music and remixing it they should get exclusive tracks but a fan who is willing to give you money can't have them? But when CD singles were massive and also vinyl singles too...these tracks along with the Acapella versions would be included on them as bonus tracks so it's a bit of a mix where we're all allowed to have certain tracks for various reasons. It's not like I am asking for demos or unreleased music or something that's hidden away in an actual vault somewhere, I'm basically asking for just the music and it's stuff they used to give away for free regularly. Youtube probably does play a massive part in it but as a fan I just appreciate the music. I only produce as a hobby, I don't do remixes. And again I think that kind of thinking can discourage people from maybe wanting to be a DJ or be a producer and even if you did....what are you gonna remix? Look at pop music, no acapellas there either.Nothing to work with, no tools to work with.
Dec 31, 2020 Loved the way his tone changed when Snoop came up. He is pissed off. It's funny because Em has always paid respects to Snoop by quoting him or referencing him but Snoop seems to have always had an issue with him I feel. From the Stan comments to the sitting with Afrojack when his dissed Eminem, even with him song with JD when Xzibit ans Em made say my name. He always seems to have bad feelings towards Em.
Dec 31, 2020 Em talking about why he dissed snoop really makes me think he didn’t hear when snoop was talking bad about Stan. I think if em heard that snoop would’ve gotten more bars
