Oct 21, 2020 I actually can’t believe how much of a colossal f--- up the whole Revival era was. Such a shame because my anticipation for that album was through the roof
Oct 21, 2020 I remember screenshotting a fake tracklist for Revival that looked great while the album promo was still medication-themed. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my phone where I work so I can't post it rn.
Oct 21, 2020 I know Eminem can do whatever he wants, but I think even he knows if he is going to release three albums in this short amount of time this album needs to be a good addition to his discography. It felt like Kamikaze got him back on the right track, MTBMB was a decent attempt at taking that same energy and putting it into a fully fleshed-out album, so hopefully, this album is perfecting what he did right with both Kamikaze and MTBMB. I don't expect or need a classic from him. I just don't think he's capable of it, but I would love an album I can play from front to back without a huge desire to skip any song.
Oct 21, 2020 I feel like he is righting the wrongs of Revival: Kamikaze was the response, MTBMB was an attempt to make an album like Revival with better artistic choices and now he is gonna try making a better political statement than the last time. At least that's my understanding of his recent moves.
Oct 21, 2020 It's still wild to me that he clearly had a lot to say politically, but his main political songs on Revival were a rock-based song about cops that no respectable hip-hop head would ever listen to and a god awful attempt at a pop song featuring Alicia Keys. If either of those topics would have been over a Dr. Dre beat that people would not be embarrassed to play in their car, the view of Eminem's attempt at going political would have been completely different
Oct 21, 2020 12am rolls around on thursday night and em releases revival deluxe and it’s just campaign speech and kickoff added to streaming services
